ok, so i had my surgery on 1/12/10. eveything was excellent!! minimal pain after surgery, and i had a single incision lapband. yey!!!! soooo whats the problem? well, i was told at post -op, that my stomach is like the size of my thumb, and that i would only be able to consume small amounts of "mushy" foods. not the case here!! i left hospital really hungry. i started eating the approved foods, but i feel like i can consume more than i should, and i'm not feeling "stuffed" or uncomfortable. i stop eating because i know i shouldnt push it. i would really like to know if anyone else is having this, because i feel like i might stretch the band, before i even get to use it!!! let me make it clear that i'm DEFINATELY not eating like i used to!!! for example this morning i was able to eat 2 soft scrambled eggs. i feel like i shouldnt have been able to finish--but i had NO problems. i see my surgeon for my follow up visit wends. but i was curious if i'm the only one feeling this way.

On the one hand you are prob a lucky person who didnt get much swelling at the site of the band...but that probably means its wide open so its like you dont have it at all and you wont untill you get the right amount of fill!!!

Dont worry about two eggs...this phase is called bandster hell because until you get to the right fill you feel like you went thru all this for nothing...hang in there!

I pretty much had the same experience and then a couple of weeks after, I could eat anything and felt no restriction. I just tried to stick to the plan and make it to my first fill. On the bright side, since you're doing so well, you'll probably get your first fill a lot earlier than some people, mine was 3 weeks after surgery. Good luck.

gosh. I have the same problem.. I had surgery on 1-4 and after a week I was eating soft foods and not feeling the fullness. I'm still eating soft foods and finishing every bite. I'm already wanting a fill in my band because I feel like this isn't working for me. ;( I go to back to the doctor tuesday. hopeful I haven't messed up anything.

wow! i also feel like i messed up already, and possible overate, and thats why i can eat so much more than expected! i keep fearing that i busted the sutures holding band in place.. but in all honestly, i am sticking to the mushies.....so idk??? hopefully surgeon will have an explanation. puzzled, and anxiety is setting in!

I had my band put in on 1-8-10 and have been having the same issue. I am hungry every couple hours and don't get full like I expected. I am still sticking to the diet of mushy foods and trying hard, but feel like it isn't working. I had my surgery in Mexico and am not scheduled to even talk about my fill until 6 weeks post-op. It's a bit frustrating...
