 I had my surgery on Sept 16, 2009. I've lost a total of 42 lbs. I've had two fills and still feel like I can eat way to much at one meal. When I went for my last fill I overheard a patient say he was their for his first fill, a year since surgery. I must be doing something wrong!!

You are doing NOTHING wrong. Everyone is different. In my office they said there is one person who NEVER needed a fill, just the band put her where she needed to be. I am at 5.4cc's and I am at my sweet spot, but I know people with 7cc's in their band. There is no "perfect" equation for all this. You are fine, be patient you are still quite new to all of this since you had surgery in Sept. It's better to go slow than to get overfilled, that crap HURTS! Talk to your doctor and nutritionist about your concerns. Use them, pick their brains and always feel free to chat it out here!

Hi Jeant...i sometimes feel the same way.

i got my band at the end of sept and have only lost 26lbs. i have 3 cc right now and i have my 2nd fill this week. I feel a little dissapointed, but i keep reming myself that "slow and steady is better!!!" I do not want to be overfilled and go though the discomfort..i rather be a little conservative about my fills.

Good luck and keep you chin up!!!!!

I was lucky to have perfect restriction on an empty band for almost two months after the procedure, but it does loosen up as you lose wieght and since I have had a couple of fills. I know I am at my sweet spot because with the right foods (non sliders!)I simply CANT overeat more than a half or three quarters of a cup of food. Its weird to keep discovering what the sliders are and its hard to give them up.Nuts are a good test for me and a good way to fill up to nearly painfully full and get protein. I can only eat about quartercup of those!

Hang in there, you'll know when you're there!
