Tough first week

Tomorrow will be 1 week since I was banded and It has been very hard at times. I am still starving to death and can't wait to eat something that may stick with me for more than 3 seconds. The good news it I get to try creamy foods tomorrow! Yay... and I have lost some weight... but not weighing in again until tomorrow, so I will post tomorrow how I did in week 1.

 

The issues I had were completely my fault for trying to add coffee and a protien shake too soon, so I have learned my lesson. Please everyone be sure to follow "your" doctors orders... he/she gave them to you for a reason and just because it worked for someone else doesn't mean it will work the same for you. Be careful!

 

Second issue I am finding is that I have not had a BM all week... has anyone else had this problem? I think i will try some prune juice tomorrow, but not today since it isn't a "clear" liquid... not taking any chances.

I was banded Thursday and I'm not hungry at all, but I do miss the ritual of eating. I think I"m not hungry because all of my space is taken up with gas. I am very bloated. My doc's guidelines say 1-2 oz every 15-30 mins, which is definitely a different way of doing things. I'm on a lean protein shake and water now.

Starving 4 days post op!!! I am so sick of liquids. I hate broth etc... The shakes and all are sweet. I want some yummy real food. Chicken would be great right now! HELP!

I was banded Jan 27. Your right not what I expected. I thought I was the only one starving. I get soooo hungry till I feel like I'm gonna pass out. I hate the protein shakes, they taste horrible. Can anyone recommend a good tasting one.

hey guys hang in there its in your mind with the food trust me im a month in i remember and when you move to eggs and grits it will be the best tasting thing for 2 bites i threw mine up the first time u will go back to a shake after a few times but i will be honest its about the work out after you can eat more and new things just work out walk a mile a day for a month then drop back to 3 days a week just to het your body use to burning calories TRUST ME yall can do it no more old ways the old ways got us here in the first place

Hang in there is right.

I've been banded for almost 3 years now.

Take FULL advantage of your weight loss tool right now. You won't always be hungry, you won't always be on liquids, you won't always be loosing.

I had a quick start at loosing weight and then plateaud for actually a couple of years. In hindsight - I should have attended meetings - I should have started to exercise - I should have lost as much as I could. BUT, I did not regain the 40 pounds I had lost the first year and that is the first time in my life to maintain a loss.

Like I said, I'm almost 3 years out, and ready to loose again. I've got an appointment to see my fill doctor this Friday, I start a once a week exercise class on Saturday, and I'm keeping track of what I eat with an online app called the daily plate. Mentally I'm there again and that's where you need to be.

Get on top of your weight loss wave and ride it. And stay there. You will be able to eat again. You will find out that some healthy stuff gets stuck and really bad stuff slides down. I am giving you the knowledge to remember you ARE still on a diet and the band is a tool and only works with you. 3 years out and I feel wiser about this tool. I think if I had come across these words 3 years ago, things might have been different, but a I also know that it's up to me and not my band.

Be strong everyone. Life is not over, you just have to chew it more. (and you'll really notice how crappy meat can be that they serve people and how much grizzle or bone is in what gets ground up).

Try Special K protien shake the best! and walmart has them 4 for 5.00 its a deal

I was banded this Wednesday and am starving as well! This isn't what I expected!

Drink alot of broth! in my 1st 2 weeks i lost 22 lbs SO hang in there try to get yourself doing other things and water is a way to fill you up also until ur 1st fill!

i went 6 days without having a bm.

Try to remember you arent putting in what you use too! things have changed as they should. If in fact you are drinking liquids that will help

Youa re bloated right now cause you are filled with air from the sugery! try doing some wingmills ya know hold arms out and move them in a circle then raise arms and move left and right

you will be fartin and burpin in no time!
