The foray back to food.

This morning was one week since I was banded. Hooray! While I have had a hunger twinge now and then, I honestly have not been hungry, and I think a good bit of that is fear. Fear of what it'll be like when I try to eat again.

I've gone into this with attitude that if I'm going to spend this kind of money, time, family time, etc, then I'm going to do it right. I'm going to try to do it by the book. So, today I tried that with my foray back to solid foods.

This morning I had one packet of instant oatmeal (with splenda and a bit of cinnamon!) and one boiled egg. I took an hour to eat it, and never once felt any food coming back at all. In fact, I didn't feel full either. I just considered it over and that was that. At about 11am, I got hungry. It was not crazy hungry, but just the feeling. For lunch, I had 3/4 cup of black-eyed peas (left over from new Year's.) and about 2 oz of ham. This time I took about 25 mins to eat it (mindfully chewing every step of the way). Again, no problems. None.

I'll have to see how supper goes, but I'd say so far so good! :-)
