Frustrated!!! Argh!

Hi guys,

I am so frustrated. I am 2.5 weeks post op. I am back on mostly regular foods with the exception of some foods. Haven't tried lettuce or anything besides ground meat with the exception of a piece of chicken I had on my bday.

Well I had lost 23 lbs. That includes the weight I lost on the liver shrinking diet the week before surgery (12.5). I was stuck at 23 lbs for about a week and then in the last couple of days I have gained 3 lbs. Is it normal to gain a couple of lbs when you go back to eating regular food? I felt restriction until about a week ago and now I am starving. I am sure that is because the swelling is going down but it doesn't make it any easier when I am so hungry I could eat a horse.

I keep telling myself not to be so hard on myself. That is has been less than a month and I am down 20 lbs. I would have never been able to do that before but I would just like to see those 3 lbs I regained go away!

I am supposed to get a fill 1/14. Hopefully this will help. Does the 1st fill usually give you restriction again? If so, does it last for a while?

Sorry for all the questions I am a newbie and frustrated, scared, worried...you name it.

Any answers and words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated.

Make that three of us, mine was 12/16 and while I was patient at first am starting to get discouraged (fill next Tuesday so I can hang in that long). I was up to 26 pounds but according to the scales have gained 3...I'm tracking every calorie I consume and am averaging 1000-1200 a day AND exercising at least 30 minutes 4-5 days a week so I'm assuming it's fluid levels fluctuating...but GRRRR....want those three pounds GONE NOW.... Good luck! We can do it!!

I feel you, I am in the same boat. I am a few weeks post-op and not schedule for a fill until 1/20/10. I have gain 3 pds and I am not able to take it off. I also find myself hungry but continue a liquid diet recommend by my surgeon. I am not putting anything solid in my mouth and still I continue to fight with this 3 pds.

Is it's normal? I am scared to gain any more weight.

Less than 48 hours until fill time. I'm back on a self imposed liquid diet, just kinda queasy and not feeling great (likely related to the amount of GUNK my head is creating draining into my stomach). Hang in there everyone, it will get better!!! For one brief moment last week I thought "I should have gotten the darn bypass" but no, no, I'm glad I didn't, just ready for a little restriction.

Hang in there. I feel the same way. I don't feel like I have a band in either. I asked my mom if she was sure they put it in haha!

You made the right decision. I am ready for restriction too. Bypass has way to many complications that could occur. Hang in there!

I did not feel much restriction until my third fill. The third fill did me in and this is where I have been forever, well at least a few months now. No more fills for me for a while. Living, Loving, Life with LB. Best thing I ever chose to do for myself. imaluckydog
