Hello, I am starting the LAP-BAND® process. Thank goodness we changed insurance companies from Aetna to Blue Cross Blue Shied Texas (BCBS TX). Aetna did not approve me now I am going through BCBS TX.I would have never been approved through Aetna, no co-mobilities and BMI only 40 for the last year. Looking to have surgery at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center-Dallas. Changing insurances was a huge blessing. From what I have read UT-Southwestern are pioneers in lap banding. They performed the first LAP-BAND® procedures in Texas and they have single incision surgery available. What a great option. Called hospital to set up consultation, hopefully they will schedule consultation sometime this week (January 3, 2009.) Trying to speed up the process as much as possible, even trying to contact nutritionist at UT-Southwestern to look into surgery requirements like 6 month diet. Anyway that for having me on this forum, looking forward to hearing all of your stories and advice.

Height: 5'9
