Did really good at first lost 40 pounds in first 3 months but as the fills started eating became more harder to get my protein in, Have issues with meat of any kind. Hair started falling out. Hi, I was banded June 29 so we are June buddies together. I have had three fills so far and I am as full as I ever want to be EVER. I am due back at the Dr.'s on Dec 21, I will not take another fill as it is so hard to eat and it takes me about 1/2 hour to eat all the food I need to eat. I have to eat really slowly so I do not PB. I hate that part. So I go slow and steady and some how get it all in. I really miss eating a ton of food when I sit with my family and everyone is chow'n down. I find myself cutting my food into smaller and smaller pieces and playing with my food more. It helps to pass the time in between bites. At around the three month mark I felt I had lost a lot of hair as well. It has slowed down the hair lose that is. Getting in protein is what helps I think. The last time I got weighed I had lost 68 pounds so I hope I have lost some more when I go back. Best wishes and I'd like to hear from you again. imaluckydog

Hi, Why don't you try adding meat to the soups and then use a blender.

also there are a variety of supplement to help strengthen the hair.

wish you good luck

I go through periods of hair loss too and I am not yet banded. I would try adding protein powder to soups and maybe even go see and endocrinologist and have my hormones checked. Congrats on 40 pounds though. If your not happy talk with your doc and see what can be changed. You deserve success don't give up.

My doc would say, if you can't eat meat you're too tight! Sometimes just a tiny unfill can help a lot (I also use a little sauce if the meat is particularly dry, but I'd never be able to get in all my protein without meat). You should also track your calories (and protein) for a few days and discuss this with your doc or NUT. You may be getting too few calories if you're having problems eating...anything around 800 or less and your body will go into 'starvation mode' and your WL will slow. Or you may have too many calories as you might be in 'soft food syndrome' eating higher cal sliders because you're too tight. Best wishes and...call your doc! -BG Oh, and the hair loss is normal (anesthesia), mine slowed considerably after the 6th month.
