I am feeling fantastic! I have energy that I never thought I would have...

I am scheduled for my first fill on Dec 14. My weight loss seems to have stalled a little but slow and steady wins the race. I have a friend that had the gastric bypass and she asked if I wish that I would have chosen that instead...she said that I could have lost so much more that way. I made the right choice for me and I wouldn't change a thing!

I have found that there are foods that I am afraid to try and for now that's ok. I am sticking with the plan. I am looking forward to the go ahead to begin some exercise other than walking.

Loving all the support from everyone elsesblogs and discussions!!!

For today...

Great job Cheri. I got banded on 12/1/09 and am very excited about the whole thing. I know you are excited about your first fill as well as nervous. I should be getting mine sometime mid Jan. of 2010. I am still on liquids till the 16th when I get my stitches out and then I will have two weeks of mushy foods, which did not initially sound good, but after being on liquids since 11/15, they sound great now, haha. I think about what foods I will be able to eat everyday. I want to do the right thing, eat healthy and eat foods that are band friendly. I have been trying to come up with high protein, low calorie, fat, carb, sugar, etc. It is all a learning process I guess, but from all I can tell it boils down to eating right, eating the right amount and chewing, chewing, chewing your food and then excercising. The band is a tool, we have to use it wisely. Best of luck to you and I hope to see more updates from you in the future.

You sound exactly like me! I am almost a month post op, my weight loss has been slow but steady. I feel awesome! And I am afraid to try some foods. I thought that was just a thing going on in my personal brain so Its neat to hear someone else say the same thing. I'm not so much afraid that they are going to get stuck. I think maybe its that it will bring back the old me, or undo the progress I've done. I am afraid to eat pasta, rice, potato, bread. Basically starches. I have no problem eating protein. Also not really eating veggies. Not sure what the dietitian is going to have to say about that. Good job staying strong. I want to climb one of those rock walls HA! Good luck to both of us. I know we can do it if you stay the course :sneaky:
