I was banded Nov 11th '09. Two weeks prior to that I was on a two week liquid diet and had no problems. Well, sence then I have been banded nearly 4 weeks with no restriction!!! :scared2:What is going on? I get my first fill Dec 10th. I thought I would have at least a little restriction before this fill but I have none:sad:.

Enjoy it for the time being. I have had my third fill and I am as tight as I ever want to be. No kidding I was supposed to get a fourth fill five weeks ago. I refused it. I just got weighed and we talked made another apt. for Dec 21, and at this rate I will likely NOT get another fill. Everyone is different. After the third fill the tightness did not kick in for about 4 to 5 days after the fill. I miss the days I could eat more. So enjoy it. Be happy where you are. I am SNUG enough. Losing well but I do not eat all that much any more. Best Wishes. imaluckydog

I'm just wondering now if I'm stretching my pouch while enjoying all this food?

Girl, I no what your talking about... I've had my 4th fill and still don't feel the restriction. My doctor told me that some people have restriction, just by having the band on, without being filled. Some need to be filled 1, 2, 3, 4, or even 7 times to feel the restriction. I feel no restrictions at all. I'm being patient, so be patient also... It will come... Don't worry!!!!!!

I was banded on the 17th. I am eating like I normally would. I was expecting to lose weight by now, but I'm not. I get a fill on the 23rd. I hope it helps. I too worry that I am stretching my pouch. Stay strong!

hi Queen.. i am 9 weeks post op and had my 1st fill on NOv 19th. before then i was thinking the same thing as you...i did not feel any restriction BUT i tried tricking my brain into keeping with the "idea" of feeling full and keeping with my food limitations. I made sure my stomach was never empty, so had small meals 4-6 times a day... the way i saw it is if"i dont have restriction now, i might as well help myself get used to the idea since after my 1st or 2nd fill i will feel the difference".

I dont feel much restriction now after the 1st fill...but everyone is different and it may take me 2 or 3 fills to get to the "sweet spot" as my Dr calls it.

I am loosing slowly, and sometimes a wake up fustrated but then i think "slow and steady is better that going UP"

My suggestion to you is dont go crazy with the food just because you dont feel restriction, because then you will be in shock once you do. You need to start training your brain now.

Good Luck, Vic

Yes girlfriend, it won't happen over night. Enjoy eatting while you can because one day it will all come to a halt.

I felt no restriction after my 1st fill and wondered if I was ever gonna gonna lose weight, but after my 2nd... Oh boy. Just take your time, when it happens you will be plesantly surprised and even happier you stuck it out.

And don't froget everyone is different it could take 2, 3 or 4 fills before you feel restriction.

Being restricted is a wonderful thing but keep in mind you are in control of your weigth loss. Post surgery I only ate 6oz of food every 3-4 hours due to my energy demand I have lost 200lbs Since Feb. Band adjustments are like a sleep number bed each person has there own number.. Everyone is different. The band is not an exact science, Working for a Surgeon my self I have learned so much from the Surgeon and he as learned alot from me.

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
    • I'm literally almost crying reading this. Mostly because I'mon this pre-op diet and these last two days have been difficult... but also because I needed this! Thank you! Congrats! And a BIG congrats on quitting smoking a second time! It was hard enough to do it once... So - when I say BIG congrats... I mean BIIIIIG congrats! ❤️
