I was not expecting my fill to hurt. Although it went smooth under x-ray, it felt like I got stabbed...

:)

I don't look forward to my next one on the 4th but I won't stop now.

Any suggestions other than numbing the area?

Am I the only one who has experienced pain during a fill?

Mmmm. i was just told that the needle it self did not hurt. most everone i have talked to says it does not hurt. I do not have a band. i am wondering maybe you doctor is being to rough. i hear that yes after a fill the area can be a little tinder but not painful. Soooo what about the whole sticking of the needle to get the fill.

I don't want to scare any of you, but the needle is huge compared to most & left me bruised for at least 2 days after.

I did not use novicane, this time I will request it...

2nd fill will be Dec. 4th

I have had I think 5 fills now. Ya it hurts, to me it's no more than giving blood or getting a shot for something.

What hurts more is when they move the needle once inside to find the port.

The pressure from that is what hurts my insides.

But then they find it, I get more and smile, knowing that I will benefit from this little bit of discomfort.

Once you both (you and the doc) learn the sweet spot for the fill, it will go by much better.

The one cool thing; when they take out everything to check the amount, it’s like undoing your belt after you’ve just eaten. Then they fill it back up and it’s tight again.
