I had surgery on 11/04 and i'm wondering if it was a good idea since i'm only 26. the first few day were ok but now i'm getting a little depressed, bored, and hungry. i'm on the liquid diet until i see my surgeon on the 17th but everything keeps going through me so it seems like i'm never really satisfied. any suggestions on what i can do, pls help? Thanks

Don't worry this is normal...at least it was for me. The first 10 days were the hardest. I was depressed, crying, confused, regretful. This will pass....I promise. Little by little. It is the addiction talking. You are morning your former life.

Plus this is the hardest part of the entire thing (from what I am told)...the healing process. Hang in there. It will get better. I am only 20 days post op and compared to week one, I am amazing! Just keep busy and stay on here. Reading inspiring stories helps me through the hard times.

Find something to be positive doing...make something, read a banding book, etc. Some depression is normal for a short while. Bandster Hell is hard, but keep in mind we all had to go through it and you wouldn't see so many positive reports here if we didn't think it was all worth it. That horrible hunger you're feeling now...I don't have it anymore. Come here to get those feelings out and keep your chin up, it gets better! -BG

I was banded on sept. 16th 09, and I was so excited about getting the band. I hadnt discovered this site at that time. I was a day out and was in a near panic at what I had done, I had been working on getting this done for 1 YEAR, ugh. I was terrified that i had put this thing in my body and I was stuck with it. I thought it was the wrong decision, I didnt want it in and I was litterally panicking at the thought I had done it. Those thoughts and feelings only lasted a very very short time. I tihnk it was a week out that the feelings went away and I was fine. Now almost 2 months out I wouldnt even know I have a badn in me, I cant eat quite as much but im still not at my sweet spot, another fill in december should bring a closer to that spot. I have lost some weight and feel very good about what I have done and wouldnt change it for anything now. Hang in there and it will get better. You will be eatign solids soon. And then the journey to your sweet spot begins, I wont tell you thats pretty but you will get there, or should I say, WE will get there.
