Today is Halloween which means my surgery date is just two days away on November 2nd! Just like it was when I finally decided to get my knees replaced, this took a long time to make the final decision to have a lap band done. I guess it takes me a while to make things happen but once I got the ball rolling I was ready to get it on over with! I'm not nervous about the surgery because I really don't think it could be worse than having a knee replacement, though I'm apprehensive about handling the change in eating... the liquid stage, the soft stage and then whatever comes next. One step at a time I guess! :)

Congrats on your decision to have the band. I think it will be worth it. I am 10 days post op and it's kind of hard just to have protein shakes but I know it will get better. I have lost 19 and a half pounds so far and am happy about it. Good luck and I am sure it won't be as hard as the knee surgery.

Thank you. I notice some doctors have patients on protien shakes before hand. Mine doesn't but has us on low fat/high protien. That's good though that you got a jump start on your weight loss. I wish you luck as well!
