Wow! I have a large frame according to the chart. I never knew... According the the 'happy weight' I should weigh 134. That's CRAZY! At my thinnest in high school, that is about what I weighed... and you could see my bones.

Anyway, regarding the goals that the docs set, I didnt get any goals. Heck, they didnt even weigh me before my surgery! I use my starting weight from my home scale... I weighed myself first thing when I got home from my surgery 4 days later. Who knows how accurate that is, but I continue to use my scale to chart my progress, as the dr. scale usually varies from mine. Just trying to keep it consistent. Ya know? :)

I struggled with having a large frame as a teenager/early-20-something year old. On my mom's side of the family all of the women are tiny little (BUT VERY TALL) petite things. They all thought that since I was large framed that meant I was fat. And they all told me about it all the time until I actually started to become fat. At 18, I weighed 136. According to happy weight calculator I should weigh 142 nowdays. Using my answers for 25 and 21, I should have weighed 141 at 25 and 139 at 21. At 18, I was 136 with A LOT of muscle as I swam 4-5 hours a day three days a week, and on the off days from training I swam 2 hours. On those off days I also lifted weights and ran for another hour. I actually thought I was fat, too.

I wasn't fat. I have what I call powerhouse legs. Very large VERY muscular thighs. At 18, I had measurements of 36/26/36. My friends called me Barbee, which I didn't understand at the time. Afterall, my family wouldn't lie to me - I WAS fat. I couldn't find pants that fit because my waist didn't match my hips. Nonetheless, my pelvic bone stuck pretty far out.

I REALLY thought I was fat.

Now I KNOW I was not.

Thank you family!

Anywho. It was in my late 20's that I realized and then accepted that I did not get my bone structure or my easy ability to create muscle from my mom's side of the family but rather from my dad's side. On my mom's side of the family, no matter how hard they try, they cannot build muscle. As they are getting older that inability to create muscle with ease is working against them.

I would love to get back to 142. I will happily accept 154 - which is the high end of my ideal range. That's a little over 100 pounds for me to lose as of today...

I've been doing the 10 pounds goals this time around too! I love it, I'm so excited when I reach it!!

I've lost close to 25 pounds since April (that's when I got back on track) and am so proud of myself. I didn't think I would do this well so quickly. (that's what...4 #'s a month?)

I do have a fill appointment next week and I'm going to ask for 1/4cc more. I feel that I'm eating a bit to much lately. :)

My ultimite goal is 145 and I'm about 35 pounds away from that goal! I try not to think about that ultimite goal to much, but focus on the 10 pounds at a time.

I need a GOAL!!! I am going to the Dr. on Nov 5. I am going to talk about this. It has been on my mind, like many other topics. I may be at that point and may not want another fill just yet. I would love to say I lost 100 pounds but not sure I will ever do that. I am feeling good in my body these days. Best wishes everyone. imaluckydog Kathy

I have been dreaming of wearing a single digit size! But I think the standard weight charts are reflections of health risks so I think I need to at least be in the normal range...also I think if I am eating/living right, (healthy food and a comfortable amount of it)my weight will settle at a good point!? I hope so!

I used the Happy Weight Calculator and it says my goal weight is 129, about 5 pounds less thant he goal I set for myself. My labband doc didn't set a goal weight, but my back surgeon did. I have three herniated disks in my back and he said I would need to lose 100 pounds before I tried to get pregnant. Before surgery I was 247, now I'm 206. Getting there.....I too set mini goals of 10 pounds. I am at my sweet spot, I can eat a few bites of most things and then I'm done. As long as it follows the high protein guidelines. If it's not high protein and a slider my "inner fat chick" comes out and I eat too much and still never feel full. I'm with you xavier, single digit sizes, here we come. :)
