I told myself I would burn my scale because I knew I would drive myself crazy! How is this possible that I have barely been eating (well drinking) my chicken broth and Ive only loss 2 pounds??? Im hoping thats gas or something because how can this be possible? I have lost more weight when I actually eat....Im trying not to be discouraged but I mean really, Is this normal?

Totally normal...they load you up with what seems like gallons of fluid during the surgery and the body hangs onto that fluid just from the inflammation (just like the puffed up sprained ankle). Hang in there, I think everyone goes through this.....think long haul!! Good luck!

Don't get discouraged girl. I am just one week post op myself so I dont know if it's normal or not. But just hang in there and don't give up. I'm sure was thinking did I waste my time having this surgery. But I'm sure in a couple of months the resulst will be wonderful.

Let me tell you my story I did cry.. I went to my follow up appt yesterday and my doctor walked in laughing at me.. he said you poor thing you must be starving.. I'm like hell yeah i am.. he said I know you are because your band is not tight.. we used the smallest band on you and you still have alot of room right now you can eat like you normally would before you had the band. I'm looking at him like WHAT?? He said my stomach was so small that the smallest band was still to small. He said they dont fill the band up with fluid in surgery because normally it would be to tight. He said in all his years he have never came across someone who band didnt fit. He said I can go to eating mush remind you this only 1 week post op where normally you are suppose to be on liquids 2 weeks then go to mush. Then he said at 3 weeks go to regular food and get my fill at 3 weeks instead of 4. He said normally on a person 1st fill which aint until 4 weeks they will get 3cc's he said I will need like 5-8cc's to fill the band tight round my stomach.. So by this time tears are forming in my eyes and Im thinking in my head did I do this sh*t for nothing. He must of been reading my mind because he was like dont get discourged it was not for nothing you will just take more fluid to fill your band and I may require more fills then a normal person...now that is what you call discouraging.

And stay off the scale it is not your friend. LOL.

First of all I want to tell you that you are absolutely beautiful. When I saw your picture I was like oh my gosh this woman is georgous and no i dont "go that way" lol I am a Baptist Pastors wife, any way yes dear it is normal, you are only five days post op? They pumped you FULL of of Iv antibiotics and fluids while you were under so you would not dehydrate, then your body kinda freaks out at first and tries to hold on to or conserve calories cause it thinks you are starving it to death. Your body will adjust you will start dropping, it is worth every bit. I am almost five months post op and it is one of the best things I have done in my life, dont panic girl, it will happen, good luck and God bless
