What do you do when you craves sweets! I never was big on sweets before my surgery I would have them now and then but it didn't bother me. Now since I had surgery it seems like every time (for the last 2 months) I eat I want something sweet. I need help with this my weight loss has been at a stand still and I believe it's because of this. Please let me know if there are other things you can eat to take this away. Thanks so much in advance!!!!!:huh2:

Hmm - seems like my sweets cravings have gone seriously down since being banded. I do know that carbs make me crave more carbs (and sweets are the queens of carbs!!), so I'm thinking my lower carb diet really helps that. Are you for sure getting the right balance of protein first, fat, and carbs?

Also, I've found that the sugar free jello puddings are SO good. I look forward to them like I would look forward to cake in the old days! And it always comes as a really funny surprise to me, but when I'm craving sweets and give myself a fruit, it really helps me (I never think it's going to, but it always does!). Maybe there's something you could find that would be satisfying, but not so harmful to your success.

Keep on' truckin'!

I don't eat a lot of the SF stuff (all those ethyl...aren't great for you), but I'm a chocoholic, so I always have the individually wrapped SF Russell Stover's chocolates in the house. All kinds of insides; peanut butter, carmel, toffee, etc. and they come in dark chocolate as well. I have one most nights after dinner and it gives me a treat to look forward to all day. For me I can't make anything completely off limits or eventually I'm doomed for failure. If I know I'm allowed and I'll be able to have it soon, then I'm good. If you eat more than a little of any of these with the sugar alcohols you'll pay the price...gas and diarrhea (that helps me keep it to one LOL). SF fudcicles & popsicles help me out too.

I also agree with the 'the more you have the more you want'. Try cutting sugars out completely for a few days and then see how it goes.
