I am on my 2nd day of post op.

I had my surgery on Oct. 13th. I went home tired, sore and I had a hard time breathing. I felt horrible yesterday with a low grade fever and my breathing was shallow. I feel much better today! I am breathing better and my incision is sore but not too bad. My neck and back are killing my, I think it is gas pain. I am walking a little but not too much, I don't want to push it. I haven't had any protein, didn't know I was suppose to. I have been drinking water and sugar free jello and chicken broth. I am not hungry but I am eating to keep my strength up. I wish everyone luck on this journey and I hope that we can help each other succeed!! Good Luck

Protein isn't that important just post-op as you're going through your first week of healing. Liquids are critical though and whatever else you can get in is a bonus. You don't want to get dehydrated. Best wishes and sip, sip, sip!! -BG

Hi! I was banded the same day as you! It gets better each day! I got one protein drink in yesterday and today I decided to do 1.5 scoops and skim milk...if I can't get any more in today..that is fine. The protein powder I decided on it really pretty good...so taste is not an issue.

Keep plugging along...you will do great!

I was banded on the 12th . I could not handle the protein my friend told me to blend some soups or anything that I could eat it would help me feel better until my stomach can handle protein.I will try proteins later. So I did and I feel much better today and I have more strength.
