I'm afraid of what my *belly* will look like after weightloss

Hi...I will be banded November 9, 2009.

I'm almost 5'-11" and I weigh 313 lbs.

For some reason, lately, all I can think about is how my stomach is going to look after the weightloss. I know it would look better than it looks now but I can't imagine all of this stomach disappearing. I've been told I carry my weight well but my stomach alone must weigh like 50lbs and I lost elasticity a long time ago.

Surgeon said I will need a tuck but (kicking and screaming)---I don't want tooo.

Anyone out there willing to talk about this?

Margaritadlc,

Hi, I am Mary and I am scheduled for surgery on Nov 11th. I am 5'5" and weight 228. I am very concerned about my belly, but also my boobs. I don't think there is anything i can do for them. My stomach however I believe exercise will take care of. How old are you? You are very pretty and I am sure when you get the weight off you won't notice a bellie that hangs a little. Don't sweat the small stuff. Keep me posted on you progress. Mary.

One thing I've been doing is exercising (twice a week--Zumba. Started out w/water aerobics, did that for a year). With the weight coming of slow it has given me time to tone up.

Yes I have a tummy issue but it could be worse, if I had lost the weight fast I wouldn't have had the time to tone up.

If you haven't yet, give some thought to exercise.

I feel the same way you do!!! I have a friend who had gastric bypass and she weighed the same as I did when I started (293) and yes it her hangs a little but not to the point where you say gross. She told me she did her exercises and kept her stomach moist, by putting lotion so the elasticity can return. Somewhat like a pregant woman does. So I included that in my regime as well. Hope this helps!! couldn't hurt.
