Tryptophan and other amino acids affect brain chemestry I am considering the band and frankly loosing the comfort of carbs concerns me. These are several good web sites that will explain. Today is my first day on a blog you are my first contact! The subject is important to me because I tend to be emotional The lower "glycemic index"foods can be a comfort too,I am new to this process and don't know if it is for me exactly for this reason, Best wishes Purple Girl

Aagh, after a little research and soul searching, I realized that there is a name for this carbohydrate craving. It's called SAD. Or Seasonal Disorder. Brings on depression and carb craving. Check out the link to read more about it and find the solution before it wrecks your weight loss battle.

I wont say my craving for carbs is gone.... but much much much lower. The reality is.... if I can no longer eat an entire single slice of cheesecake, there is no fulfillment. And if that is the case, why bother? If I eat a meal, and I am full to the brim, so there is no room for dessert, then there is just no room, so why bother?

Of course, it took several months to get there, so be patient..... one day at a time. :)
