Wow! Great blog...that really sums it all up.I really think the sweet spot is when there is a balance of what the band does for you and the changes you have to make for yourself and that will be the key to keeping it off!I think I need another fill and I couldnt get on the schedule till Nov. 6th...oh well.I am just trying to think long term! Yay!! Congratulations on reaching YOUR sweet spot. Great blog. You absolutely said exactly what I feel. I will NOT tolerate never being able to eat bread, puking up most of my meals, eating one teaspoon at each meal. No way. Not ever. I'm only 9 weeks out today (going in for my second fill in about half an hour), have lost 32 pounds, and my eating is under control. I'm in Onederland again, and my jeans are comfortable. I'M COMFORTABLE! Can't wait to continue on with the weight loss, but I'll not sacrifice my sense of normalcy for accelerated weight loss. As we always say - the band is a "tool". Meaning I've got to do my part. And if I've got to strangulate myself so much that I can't eat anything, well, that's just not what I will accept. Thanks for sharing your sweet spot story with us! Awesome!!!!!

That is awesome. I am still not sure If i am tooo full this time. I am not able to eat alot of foods with out feeling like I swallowed gravel. I have even slowed way down and taking very small bites. The weight for me is up too many mashed potatoes I think so you are right, the slider foods are not the way to go. I am only 2.5 weeks out from my last fill. I am going to give it a little while longer and see what happens. I love your blogs. Feel like we are friends and feel I know you for real. You are a great deal of help to me. most of the time the only reason I blog instead of asking you directly is I dont wanna be a pain. You need to change your name to Mamma band groupie because you are such a leader. Bye the way....I should be VP of the SW club....I weigh every time I enter the bathroom no joke, driving myself nuts nuts nuts...congrats on your "SWEET SPOT" hope I am there with out being too tight myself.

While reading this blog, arkansasbandster, gave me some hope. I am going for my 1st Drs. appointment tomorrow Will then know my surgery date. I was almost ready to back out because I have no desire to give up all the food I love and being only to eat a teaspoon at a time. I hope I will be able to tolerate most foods and just be able to limit myself to a few bites at a time. Does anyone on here ever eat popcorn? I LOVE it and am so afraid I will never be able to have it again. keep up the posts, I love to read them!!

Hi ConB - Yes, people do eat popcorn again. I've had it several times, but I know that's one of the things that is hard to tolerate for some. Just because you read some people do or don't tolerate a certain food doesn't mean you will or won't. You'll experiment and find your best foods. Best of luck to you on your doctor's appointment tomorrow. Listen to your heart, your gut, and your head. If it's right to continue with the surgery, you'll feel it if you listen closely to yourself. It's not for everybody, but so far, I'm lovin' it.

No food is off limits to me either. I try everything. I have eaten pop corn and lots of it with my band. I choose not to eat that much of it today. I love my food to have taste. Food is emotional for me.

I love you Band Groupie you always say something I have been wondering about. Did you read my mind? I do not know if I am there yet? But time will tell. I just love the idea of a "sweet spot" no kidding it sounds so cool. I must say I have learned so much about myself in these past few months. I am so capable of having the life I was meant to enjoy thanks to my band.

The kids came home for Fall Break and the house was a flutter. I am glad to be back at work and now they are back at school. I like my quiet time more than I will ever know. I am Happy again today. imaluckydog see me smile ;-) Thanks BG.

You read my mind today! I canceled my 3rd fill appt. for today. I felt guilty about it. Surely I need a fill when I've only had 2. Right? No. I decided I am in a good spot right now. Sweet spot? Maybe. Not sure. Time will tell. I have been losing an average of 1.5 per week. Gained 2 one week but lost 3 the next. I can also eat anything. I am just satisfied with so much less. Slow and steady will get us there and keep us there. Thank your for your great posts!

wow! I can't believe I caught up to real time! I stumbled onto your blog while perusing this site and another one. I am hopefully close to getting my LB in the next couple months & wanted an honest experience to hear about. I found your blog 3 days ago & it's been like one of those good books you can't put down! For three days I have had my smartphone hooked to my hand (because its got the internet and it's a lot easier to use quickly vs sitting at the pc). I read through all of your blogs & was so appreciative of the brutal honesty & tmi reports. There were times I comiserated with you (ocd, party planning & decorating, info bins, crafting, & loving holidays!) There were a couple times I woke my sleeping DH up next to me (Yep, even stayed up in bed late reading) while reading your account of incontinence & then that sports bra fitting- haha!!!I so appreciate the bad with the good & all the info in between. It sure made me feel better about all of it while also enjoying to peek into someone else's life! (Btw, I inexplicably also became hooked on all the Real Housewives series too!)Anyway, I just wanted to tell you thank you- you are a fabulous writer! I hope to join you on the losers bench sooner than later & will continue to look forward to any and all updates on your blog!Keep up the great work!!! (You've inspired me to possibly attempt to move my measily little 4 posts of a blog from TT to here... I'll try & figure it out & let you know!) Thanks again!!! everleigh

B_G I as always appreciate you. Thanks for taking time this year to make yourself the "project." I love your blogs and look forward to reading what you have on your mind. We are bunnies so it's really nice to go through much of the same "stuff" together. I am a fellow blogger as well. I'd like it if I had the time you have taken to blog! Way to go for putting your life in the center of your attention! ((HUGS))
