Hello Everyone,

I am desperate for a new Primary Care Physician in the Phoenix.

I would like WLS but my PCP is against it. She says diet/exercise. I explain I have diet and exercised many times.:confused:

I would like to find a new doctor, someone who is sensitive to weight issues and will hear me out. I have already been approved by a surgeon and my insurance company. Now, I just need to find a new PCP for my after care treatment.

Any suggestions?

I have United Health Care.

Thanks!

When I was considering the surgery I soooo wanted the support of my pcp. She is incredible. She said she just couldnt support me. She said with a lap band you have to diet you have to excercise and with the surgery, put your life in danger on the table (she had actually lost a male patient earlier that year on the table having a lap band done) Any way I told her I had prayed about it researched and decided to do it. She said okay and wished me luck. Now after fifty pounds of weight loss, my blood pressure meds have been cut in half and likely dc'd soon. She is thrilled with the results. Keep your chin up, God bless and good luck.

First, get a list of the PCP's from your insurance co. Then call the insurance person at you bariatric surgeon's office and ask them for some suggestions of PCP's on your list. They see who is easy to work with/does a good job with the letters needed, etc. all the time. Good luck! -BG
