So, i'm 3days out from surgery and beginning to think this was one of the biggest mistakes i've ever made.

The pain i am feeling is unbearable! The pain just seems to be sitting in my chest/under my breasts just below the diaphram! I do experience somewhat pain in my left should although it comes and goes and isn't as bad as the pain in my chest/diaphram!

I can't sleep properly let alone sit properly without getting frustrated from the pain! When will it stop!! I've been getting headaches from the pain and hunger!

How long does this pain last? Does anyone out there know how to make it stop or ease the pain!

If you can get up and walk around the house you will feel better sooner. I was doing circles around my house and it was so helpful. Yes, I had pain for a while after. I was back to work after two weeks but you need to heal so allow yourself time to do that. The pain sucks that is for sure. As for a mistake, I hope not. I was banded 14 weeks ago and have lost 60 pounds as of yesterday. I had my third fill and I do not know any other weight loss tool that is that effective. Take your pain meds and drink the water, follow the rules, only time will tell. Best wishes my LB friend. I hope I have helped. imaluckydog

it sounds like you still have some gas pain maybe, so yes, getting up and around will help. My doctor told me to get up and move at least once ever hour; when I did get up, I would putter aroud the house for 15 minutes or so - refill glasses, potty break, visit with my kids, etc. Me personally, I also like a warm rice back on the shoulder. I was banded yesterday, and the pain I have today is mostly in the abdominal muscles. Can't wait for that to go away!

oh yeah, Cleo -- dont be so hard on yourself and give yourself a chance to heal girl!! it has only been three days, and any surgery would be like this for a few days, so just enjoy the opportunity to take it easy and relaz as much as you can!

Hey Cleo, pain pass'es but the benefits from lapband are forever. Give your self time to get through this stage mentally and physically and move a bit every hour, it pass'es, truly it goes away.....

Cleo - Don't be discouraged yet. It takes just a bit of healing time, and then it should get better almost every day. I took my doctor's words of advice to heart, and walked. And walked and walked and walked. The first 12 hours out of surgery, I'd walked four miles, but just in little increments. Everytime it hurt, I walked. My recovery time was REALLY short, and I contribute that to the walking. Plus, it'll start setting the stage for good exercise habits to come.

Try to stay positive, and remember, we're all in this same boat together. You can do this!!

I also was banded yesterday and am having awful gas pain!

I get up and walk and that helps but still unable to sleep in my be. I selp on the couch in the recliner part. That way the gas pain is not that bad. Just keep your eye on the prize that helps!

Haha...I slept in my recliner too, mostly due to the abdominal pain though. In fact...that is where I am headed right now -- it is nappy time!! :)
