Hello Everyone,

I am fairly new at this I just banded on Monday, September 14th and it has been an expirience, being that I have never had surgery this was my first time in a hospital.

My biggest hurdle has been the gas pains, I have not been able to get over those, I am just now feeling better.

I am a bit confussed on the diet I have taken my meds, vitamins, water, and protein shake. I can't seem to tell when I am full, can anyone help me with this? Also, when should I start the puree part of the diet? Any help is greatly appreciated thank you so much for taking the time to read this blog.

Thank you!:tongue_smilie:

the sooner you start walking the sooner the gas will go away. i had my surgery in january and if i remember correctly everything is in two week intervals. two weeks liquids, two weeks puree then on to solids

Thank you for the advise...I have been walking a whole lot, I guess I'm just going to have to do some more walking. Thank you for taking the time to answer my blog.

I too was banded on 09/14/09 and feeling ok. My doctor started me on full liquids as on 09/17/09 and I am doing ok and probably next week will go to pureed (soft). I don't have a lot of gas, but I walk alot. I get tired when I have walked too much and I take a break. I try to walk every two hours as they instructed me in the hosptial. Its working out for me so far.

Hello Bransom thank you for sharing your experience. My doctor has put me on liquids, sugar free popsicles, and light yogurt, as well as blended bean soups. What I do with the yogurt I freeze it and it taste pretty good and goes down pretty smoothly. As far as the gas goes it has been getting a lot better, today is the first day I have been able to get up and walk around without to much trouble.

I would like to hear how you are doing so please keep in touch. Take care and thank you!
