BG,

Reading your post, it reminded me that my port is on the left side. I didn't know I had a choice, or would I even care which side. But my port has moved and is tilted. The 2 inch scare is 1 inch higher than my port. I feel like mine sticks out when I am lying on my back, there is a puffyness left side. When I feel it with my fingers I fell the roundness of it. I go in on Aug.20th for the next fill. Haven't had much weight loss at all this month, maybe 2 lbs. BARBARA

OK, now I'm mad at myself for NOT asking to have my port put on the left. Didn't even cross my mind! What I do find is that mine is higher than I expected. It's about an inch above my incision. I geuss it all depends onyour body whenthey go in?

I can't help myself so here goes...if he didn't know what the port was for he knows NOTHING about lap banding...so the comment about so many people gaining it back is actually not accurate but IS accurate for gastric bypass. (Less lifestyle, less difficult to lose weight, so less true behavior change...sorry if any GBers are offended...whatever works)

My nurse practitioner gave me a long lecture about all the patients she has seen with nutritional (iron, B12, and other vitamins) deficiencies. I was nice enough not to tell her she's talking about GB! They dont even know the difference!

Actually the long term data on the LB and keeping it off is very good! OK, I'm done!

Glad youre well, sounds like he knows his cardiology at least!!

OK,,, so I've learned things here talking about the port that I never thought of before,,,, but on another note,,,I have to ask,,, what's up with the tummy picture? Is this someone that has lost all her weight and is sucking in her stomach?

Doc told me he'd be putting the port sorta in between the girls...now I'm thinking, after I've lost some wieght and the girls are really sag bags, maybe it would make more sense to have to port UNDER one of them, kinda stealth-like! I'll have to discuss! AS usual, BG, you inform AND entertain!
