Got Surgery Date

Yesterday, I met with the surgeon and came up with September 3, 2009, as my surgery date. I'm really excited to finally have a date on the calendar so I can plan things.

Last week, I started drinking the generic Slimfast shakes for breakfast and that went well.

Today, the doc wants me to start the liquid diet - which means I'll be on it for three weeks and two days. It kinda sucks because it is so long; but if I can stick to this diet it will make his job easier and that could result in my recovery being easier (not that I expect it to be a walk in the park).

Still getting a good reception when people find out; but I'm still only telling positive people. I don't need to tell the negative people just yet, let them figure it out when I'm loosing all sorts of weight!

Boyfriend is still concerned (about generic surgery risks) and is being wonderfully supportive. He's beginning to talk about things that I'll be able to do better afterward. It's really nice to hear him getting.... excited isn't the right word, but I guess more used to the idea and journey of this. Yesterday, my mother threatened me if I got skinny and left him. Oh, please! He's the greatest already, and I have no desire to look elsewhere.
