I never knew how much food meant to me until I became restricted from eating it. Oh, MY, Goodness....I want to eat so bad. I have been on liquid diet since 7-22. And I just want to eat a burger. I watch tv because I am on leave from work and have nothing better to do. Every one on TV is eating...people in commercials, people on TV shows, movies. Its the Great American pastime and it was definitely my biggest hobby. Now to find something to do in its place:confused:.

Humans are very oral people. We kiss, we talk, we taste & our life depends on the food & air we intake through our mouths. Babies put everything in their mouths. So it stands to reason, if we are suddenly deprived of the wonderful sensation of taste, we feel depressed. Some replace this with smoking, drinking or even sex addiction. I find I now go for food with maximum flavour, less bulk. I don't miss pasta & potatoes if I can enjoy the sauce. I now eat chutney's, omeletes, soups & many other things especially if they are flavoursome. Feeling full quicker is a bonus so you can't overeat. But savour the flavour. Slowly enjoy each chew. Tell yourself how naughty you are! Then met a friend for a walk and a chat. Get out of the house if you can. You're a winner & you'll get all the great things in life you deserve. I mean that. Peace.

You can do this. I just had my banding surgery on Aug. 4 and went for 2 weeks on the Medifast liquid diet. It was very tough, but I would try to do things to help keep my mind off eating. One thing that really helped was drinking water when I felt hungry... or eating crushed ice. It felt so good to actually "chew" something and at the same time it enabled me to fill up on liquids instead of reaching for the junk food.

YOU CAN DO IT!!
