My surgi-strips are gross and covered in blood - how long do you wear these?

I am in the same boat but my doctor said that is what is holding the skin together so I will leave them on until either they fall off or doctors says to take them off,

The information provided by Malisafos is absolutely correct. I was told the same thing from my doctor. By the time I went to see him two weeks after the surgery, most of the strips had fallen off.

So correct...you keep them in place until they fall off. even if they're nasty-looking.

I was told the same thing...I go to the dr for my post surgery check up and they said the dr would probably take them off then.

Hey there. Our battle wounds! :sneaky: I went for my 2 week check up yesterday and they took off the bandages, they said "Nicely healing!" Everything looked great and they took off the bandages.

I felt like a kid who was praised for his good work...lol

Leave them on until you see the doctor, (unless it won't be for a long while)

I didn't see my doctor until four weeks after surgery (I saw my dietician two weeks post op). My strips took about two weeks to come off, but the strips over my port incision took longer. I would cut off the pieces that were rolling up and back, just a little at a time.

this is interesting all the diffrent answer, your incisions must have been pretty deep. my surgeron used liquid bandage and it dissolves by it self. i was able to take a bath the next day.
