i just had the lapband done on friday and i am still in the worst pain ever! when does it get better?

I was banded on may 28th and it was a breeze. Dont get me wrong, I was sore felt like I had done 1000 crunches but compared to my gallbladder and c-cections it was nothing. I did have ALOT of discomfort from the hunger/gas pains. that was rough for a few days. If you are hurting that bad you may need to contact your doctor. The gas should be the worst part of this surgery, if it is not from horrible gas, you may have somethind else going on. good luck and God bless.

What sort of pain? I too have been told the pain afterwards isn't as bad as a c-section,,,

Just curious to followup and see if it's the horrible gas pains that hopefulmechelle is talking about or something other that I need to consider?

I am a punk when it comes to pain. I was feeling the same as you if not worse. I kept calling the doctor asking him if I was suppose to be feeling like this. He said that everyone's tolerance level is different. It took about a week before the pain really eased up. Just know that it will get better.

I had my lapband done on July 30, 2009. Try to push through the pain and get walking. I would agree, very uncomfortable and I've had 3 c-sections, tubal and gall bladder removed. I'm NOT a big fan of the liquid pain killer the hospital sent home with me, totally useless and over medicated - I've been using Jr. Tylenol chewable. Just a little walking pays off BIG TIME! Promise!
