So I'm needing to know if anyone else struggled with losing weight after the band...I lost 20 lbs before (during the 2 weeks of my pre op diet) and I lost 2 pounds the week after surgery. I'm now on week 4 and have lost no more...I'm doing everything by the book - I'm to my regular diet as of today. I walk for atleast 30 minutes about 4x a week and plan to start exercising more vigirously asap. I'm drinking my water and yet it seems to no avail. Don't get me wrong I knew I wouldn't drop another 20lbs that fast but I was hoping to do the 1-2 each week. I haven't gained any and that's the up side I suppose...I'm just ready - ya know? Any advice?

I struggled too! I only lost 1 pound between my 1st and 2nd fill! I had no restriction what so ever and was probably eating more than I should have. I was also walking 3-4 times per week. My dietitian said that I was gaining muscle mass by walking and since muscle weighs more than fat, I wouldn't see a big loss. After my 2nd fill though, I have enough restriction that I'm seeing the weight drop now. Your body may also have hit a plateau, and will start dropping again soon. Hang in there and keep doing what you're doing!

I gained a pound between the 1-2 fills. Docs should really stress that the 1-2 poud statistics on loss doesn't kick in until you have restriction. Bandster Hell can be frustrating enough, but even worse when you have different expectations. Hang in there...restriction is coming.

Be glad that your not in my shoes. 3 months post op (3-13), finally up to 7cc's in a 14cc band and I THINK I'm about to finally get to the point that the band is going to work for me!

Last time I went in for another fill (we were going every 2 weeks) I had gained 1.5 pounds! This after the time before, no gain or loss, before that a gain, before that I think it was 2 pounds gone. See what I've been going through!

I kept hearing "you're just going to be one of those slow loosers." to now it is "I've seen some people go 4-5 months then POW off comes the weight."

Now.... who knows. All I know is that darn it, I didn't go through all this pain and trouble and expense for nothing. I'll get it off one way or another!

So hang in there. If I can do this, even at a snails pace, you can. We will support each other.
