Hi. I've had my band for about a year and a half and it's been very difficult for me.

A few weeks out each month all is well but when I am approaching my period, it always gets too tight and I throw up A LOT. I have been in a cycle of loosening and tightening my band for about 6-9 months to try to get it adjusted so that I do't throw up 2 weeks out of each month without success.

I went in today and was told my stomach slipped up..a part of my stomach that should be below the band slipped up on top of the band. My doctor took all the restriction out for the next 3 weeks. If my stomach doesn't go back then I will have to have surgery to repostion it. Has anyone ever heard of this? Has anyone had issues with the band related to their menstrual cycle? I am the only person I know with a band and feel alone and frustrated. Help!

I discovered with my 2nd fill at the beginning of this month that my period causes me to be so tight I can barely keep soup down. Like you, it took me about 2 weeks to be able to eat somewhat normally. But I still have to be very careful with what I eat or I will throw up. I have been concerned about causing my band to slip because of the throwing up. But my Dr. wanted me to wait till my period was over to see if it got any better. It took almost another week after the period before I was able to eat solid.

Now, I'm really concerned that the same thing that happened to you could happen to me! How did you know that it had slipped?
