So I'm sure you've read on this forum that during their 2 weeks of liquids post-op, people tend to get sick of soup and are frustrated. Well, I think I've hit that mark. I don't know how many other soups, broths, flavored waters I can take - I am so souped out!

I called my doctor's office just to chat with the nurse to ask about what other patients do. Really, there's nothing that can be done but to try different liquids to keep it interesting and to hang in there. She's right (of course) but it's a bit frustrating. I know that after these 2 weeks are up and I'm on to my mushy stage, I will feel much better.

I feel bad for my hubby, well kinda. I feel bad that he's had to hide in the office, bedroom or outside just to eat his meal but what else is he going to do, right? I mean, if he started eating chinese food in front me while I'm feeling this way, I might pull a Chris Brown on him. Sorry, bad joke. Haha?

Anyway, he's been nothing but supportive but I'm so jealous that he can have real food and I can't.

Alright, I guess I'll go and eat soup now.

Tomorrow will be day 8 for me and I was told that I could move on to baby food consistancy. At any rate, as boring as it was, I have been drinking fruity flavored protein drinks, apple juice with ice chips, sugar-free jello, and sugar-free popsicles. Every time my kids ate something that smelled good and made my mouth water, I have grabbed a popsicle. It's been helping. Looking forward to whipped yogurt tomorrow.

Try Andersons Split Pea Soup. It has 9 grams of protein per serving and only around 100 calories. At night I have been having it, or even 2 servings for 20 grams of protein! I like it cause it is thicker than the normal soups. I too am on day 8!

Take a peek at Voiceomt2002 blog...she's got great broth and soup recipes. The broth was heaven (I was on clear liquids for 3 weeks), and if you are on Full liquids the creamy soups were even better. Just pulverize it in the blender and they go down great. I just found a packet in the back of my freezer yesterday of the cream of mushroom and I was so excited. Yummy! Hang in there! -BG
