Needing some encouragement. I want the lapband but I'm a afraid.

I really need some encouragement but I am a little afraid. I am about 125lbs overweight and I am just starting to have some health issues at age 43. I have talked to my doc and he says "Lapband - Great Idea"! But I can't seem to get myself signed up for a seminar. I'm afraid of the surgery itself. I keep thinking that something my happen to me while I am being operated on. My husband if fighting cancer right now and if something happens to me - what about my kids. Is it safe?:blush:

Well it took me about 1 year to think about not having it after it was sugessted by my Dr. I said NOT for me. NOPE I'll try drugs. They did not work either. Well let me just say in that one year I was NOT thinking about IT my Sleep apnea got worse, Had to take drugs for High blood pressure, Had to have Viens removed, Had to have a Hernia fixed and female issuse to boot, I now am scheduled for LB on July 20 I want my life back. Go to meeting get informed. Best wishes and GOOD health. imaluckydog
