I know that you have all kinds of people who either support or don't support our decision to have lapband. I am getting some flack from a girl who is very competitive, and doesn't like the fact that I am about to catch up to her weight. Now, she's saying "well, she had to have surgery to lose. Atleast, I don't have to do that." Sick to death of that... Yes, I did have to have surgery. I've fought weight issues my entire 43 years, and I knew this was the best option. Just wish I wouldn't let her get to me like this. I never can think of a good come back... I usually steaming when she says it.... gripe, gripe, gripe... Thanks for listening...

hmmm...'No, I was smart enough to get the help I needed to get the weight off and keep it off.' or 'I don't want to have to fight to keep my weight off for the rest of my life.' (she'll be mulling that one over) or 'Actually, this is the hardest thing I've ever done, but I'm smart enough to do it.' or 'This isn't Gastric Bypass, every calorie I put in my mouth still counts.' I'm sure you can come up with better ones...just take the high road and when she's gaining it all back you can bask in it.

I also see her rude remarks and a lack of self exteme, Maybe she is not willing to do what it takes in the long run , and if she falls into the same yo you syndrom as alot of us do. It will catch up with her later, I lost 96 pounds on my own but did gain it all back plus alot more. so doing it on her own doesnt mean she is any better that you, because you got the help to get where you want to be. you chose to have the surgery to get the results you want, Which shows you are determined to do what it takes. Keep up the good work and don't pay any attention to her. After all she doesnt matter, You Do!!!
