This liquid diet is much harder than I thought. I feel like I dont want to go anywhere or do anything, becasue I dont want to be reminded of all of the things I can't eat. Was the liquid diet this hard for everyone? I just keep reminding myself to remember the bigger picture.

YES!! Well, it was for me! I've been banded for 5 days now and still on liquids (did 14 day pre op liquid as well) and I want to crunch a cracker so much I could scream! :() You do have to keep in mind the bigger picture but it is very hard. I didn't realize how much "getting out of the house" usually was in terms of getting something to eat - it's enough to drive me insane! The preop diet does get easier - your stomach starts to shrink and now after being banded I find that after two bottles of water i feel full! Good luck and Press On!

I get banded in 2 days and I've been on liquids for the 14 days pre op as well. It is hard. And I agree that going out and running errands or doing something a lot of the time equates to getting something to eat. At least I know it always does for me.

The first three days are the hardest and it does help to look at the bigger picture. It really wasn't as difficult after that cuz your stomach does shrink a lot during the liquid diet phase in the beginning.

It's just mind over matter really. Drink a lot of water as well and it won't be so bad. Water really helps at filling you up and helping you feel full. The downside is it makes you pee a lot.

Good luck and keep me posted on how you're doing. Remember, all of us have been here, we're here to help you.
