Did You Get Your Eyes Full?

I'm feeling a teeny better today and I will take that!! i am so ready for this disgusting, painful, bulky drain to be out but that won't be until Monday. Now that I have given my obligatory "health update" I can move on.   My phone came up missing while I was in the hospital. I know it was on the table that goes across the bed. A nurse came in to change my linens and then it was gone! I am not in any way insinuating that it was stolen. It could have been picked up with my tray. Wherever it was the person who looked at my pics had no clue they would want to turn back time and never look. I took a pic of myself with the phone. A "before". Aka...not a perty one! i stood in front of the mirror completely nekkid! Yep, over 300lbs of crazy white lady staring back at ya! No sports bra, no bikini, no Adam and Eve style leaves...just flesh..and a lot of it!!   Bwahahaha....I'll bet that person wishes they had not seen that!

More Tape And Less Boobs!

Today was a rough day. I actually cried and anyone who knows me knows that I don't cry. I am so hungry!! i have been sipping, sipping and sipping on Isopure, chicken broth, popsicles and water. I have a whole week until I see my doc for my post op check up. Therefore, I have a whole week until I can be moved up to full liquids.   I decided I would attempt to change the dressing on my bandage where my drain is. I was obviously doing this solo after my shower. First, I wasn't dry enough. Done. Now, I have to manage to hold the drain tube, a gauze and tape while I hold my boob up! I can say I need more tape! I couldn't see it do I did it in the mirror which had me all cattiwompus! I now have close to a roll of tape, several gauze and tape marks all over my stomach.   Wow! Who would have thought that having boobs to throw over would ever come in handy but tonight they certainly would have!! :tongue2:

Mommy, That Was A Good Fart! I'm Proud!

I like to play with colors but I don't know how to color code a fart..unless it becomes a skid mark!   Soooo, I am 4 days post-op and feeling a little out of it. I feel dizzy, naseaus, and bloated! However, I am happy to report that I was not in as much pain as i would have thought. My nerves had me worked up more than necessary. Surprise! My only pain really came from the gas. I have been walking at all hours of the day and night to get of some gas. My 10 year DAUGHTER heard me pass gas earlier and gave me kudos!   I was a little more calm than i anticipated and sat through 4 attempts at an IV and a collapsed vein until the doctor finally came in and put it in my neck. eeek! The anesthesia made me feel super drunk...until it was lights out! i had a private room with a fold out couch and they let my 10 year old spend both nights there with me! The staff was great and the hospital was nice but everyone who came to visit grabbed the tv remote and I wanted to poke their eyes out! The sound of the t.v. irritated me!   Neeext...I was not tolerating my liquids! If you think it hurts to throw up when you are not post-op then you do NOT want to experience almost 24 hours of throwing up with a stapled stomach. I firmly believe I was being given too much Morphine. I didn't have the pump but they were coming in like every 2 hours and sticking more in my neck! You could have drawn a chalk outline of my body when they hit me with morphine because I did not move when it hit my vein!   I refused any other pain meds and have not taken any since then. Nor have I thrown up. I was kept an extra night to monitor liquid in-take. Now the gas? Wow! That was painful when it got into my chest and shoulders. I am still walking and walking and...you get the point.   I am ready to get past the clear liquids for now.

Surgery Tomorrow! Eeek!

I chose green for my font color for a reason that I will get to in a moment. The huge news is My surgery is in 7 hours and I am sleepy but obviously not asleep!   I am nervous but surprisingly calm. I wonder what the heck I will be like in the morning?!? I told the nurse that until I am knocked out I am subject to walking out from my nerves. She didn't believe me. All I have to say is...SAY I WON'T!   I hit 16 lbs loss this morning and got out of the 300's! Wooooo hooo!!!!!!   Now for my green story. I was at a friend's house and after using the restroom I washed my hands and reached for a paper towel only to notice it had green peas designed all over them. Okay, I am a fat girl who has been starving for 2 weeks. Really?? Haha. I went out and asked my friend how many carbs she thought were in that paper towel because the peas looked delicious! Sometimes I crack me up!

I Lied.....

Okay, okay! I lied but not intentionally. I said I would not neglect my blog and what have I done? tsk, tsk, tsk.   I have my surgery Wednesday morning and I am starting to become a chicken! I don't just mean a little nervous I mean full on growing feathers! Eeeek! All I can think about right now is if I am making the right decision to let some man cut more than half of my stomach off.   I will say that I have lost 14.5 lbs so far! Woohoo! Of course it's been tough but worth it. Also, on a body the size of mine no one (including me) can tell.   Tomorrow I plan to spend the morning wrapping up some loose ends and then hanging at the pool with my 10 year old since Mama won't be able to swim with her for 2 weeks. Now, if you do not want to endure my venting you may stop reading   So, my husband is active duty in the Army and came into town for my surgery. He decided he wanted to eat out (we were already out). i suggested the ONLY place that I could eat, which was Boston Market because they have non-creamed spinach and water. He INSISTED on Golden Corral. Well....we all know that is a buffet!! Seriously? Your 300 lb wife sitting and watching you eat from a buffet while I have a cup of spinach and some water??? To add sprinkles on top he made a trip to the dessert bar. I was soooooooo mad!!!!! Uuuugghhhh!!!!

No More Neglecting The Blog! Still On Pre-Op Diet

Okay so....I am still on this pre-op diet that consists of a cup of spinach a day for solids. I loved spinach 7 days ago but since it's the only thing I get to chew and have been chewing on it every day for a week...not so much anymore.   I always try to use a positive when I use a negative so I am happy to report that it is paying off. I am losimg weight steadily as I make every effort to shrink my liver for surgery.   I feel like I am always "Changing lanes" when it comes to the actual day of surgery. I get excited and giddy and then scared and wonder if I am making the right decision. I'm pretty sure my lack of confidence in my decision is due to my fear of being put to sleep.
