My First Blog Entry

I am happy my LapBand surgery date seems like it's almost here though it is a couple of months away. I went to my consultation on Feb.19th 2012 I believe, but one thing for sure is my surgery date of May 30th 2012. I went to my first nutrition class yesterday 2/23/12 and thought the session was great. Like everything in life this process has obsticles. My problem is JUICE ... whew i said it. I love juice but now I will be drinking only 2 cups a day that are the size of my fist to slowly ween muself. I will be drinking crystal light. I'm fine with whey shakes due to drinking them already. I lay here in my bed thinking about my life before and how i think its gonna be after. I must say, I am excited and not nervous at all. I don't wanna be know as the fat one out of my sisters lol. Anyways I have a psych consult monday and my endoscopy thursday. I hope the process of getting to the surgery day is a smooth transition. My surgeon is great and very informative. This juice thing is complicated but for my health I am ready and willing to kick the habit. I feel like i'm on the journey to a wonderful life change.

I Got My Approval ....in There Like Swim Wear!!!!

So i got a call today that my surgery has been approved and on the first go round. I am so excited. I don't know if im more excited to have the surgery or get out of this horrible job for some time. I guess it would be the surgery. I will be having my band on May 30th and can't wait. I know the liquid diet is going to be hard. I have to do 2wks Everyone keeps asking me if i am nervous but i'm not. I can't wait to arrive at the hospital and wake up banded. For all my approved May banders good luck and we are gonna do awesome. I look forward to shopping for new clothes and starting a new chapter in my life. There is always going to be people against me getting the band but I know my life is going to be better.

Hopefully Im Done

So i just recieved a call on Friday 4/20/2012 that I need to come and pick up the machine for my at home sleep study test. I am excited that I am near the end of all my test. Today Tuesday 4/24/2012 I am going to my last nutritional appointment and I am over the top excited. Also I hate my job so I am looking forward to not being at work lol. Anyways I just completed my cardio last week and if I could move this surgery date up I would. What I fear is that even though I have everything in order and Know the LapBand is in my Insurance plan, When will I know if the date was approved. Should I call the surgeon office. That is the only thing that gets me. Other than that I am sooooooo Ready!

Endoscopy Down!

Just had my endoscopy done and feel like i'm on the ball. I had one before so I knew what to expect. What was a first for me was when the Gastro surgeon stated I had Polyps in my stomach. I was nervous at first just because I had something that was not normal to ME! He explained to me that they were not cancer forming and that he removed them. I was happy to hear that, but now I am waiting for a two week follow up appointment on how to keep the polyps down or atleast gone. Eeewwww

My Band Is Coming

I can't wait till wed. I am so excited to get my band. May 30th is my day and I will be up bright and early. Soooo excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They Changed My Surgeon

Okay so i recieve a letter in the mail that I have to come in for my pre-op testing. I got so excited. This was saturday. Then as i was sitting at my desk i realize that my appointent was with a surgeon that I did not know. Because of my insurance the sugrical team had to hand me over to another member of their staff. I was like OMG i wanted the man I liked from the start. I have to meet with this new guy in a week so I hope I like him. Well I waited a year for this (my insurance did not cover lap band, so i had to switch plans) so i am going to have my band still on May 30th. i wanted Dr. Strom but at least they are part of the same bariatric team! Lap Band HERE I COME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   I'm so excited... and i just can't hide it ..... no no no no no ...... I'm about to loose control and I think I like it .... Oooohhh yeahhhh ..... lol

Near The End

I'm near the end of my prep program. I have 1 nutrition appointment on the 24th then a stress test on the 19th. I'm very excited. I can't wait to be at the hospital. I'm not looking forward to the 2wk liquid diet but if it's what I have to do then I will get it done. I have a great support system who knows the process and great friends in my corner. The time out of my job is also something i am looking forward to. Wish me luck the surgery is just around the corner.
