Follow up after surgery...

I have my follow up after surgery today lost 19 lbs. Since surgery. on 02/06. I go gfor my first fill 03/14. I can go to soft foods this week and if I feel like it and can tolerate it I can have full foods next week.   Joan

Had a herrible day yesterday...

I had the most awful pain on the right side under my breast. Not as bad today. I think may I was not drinking enough water. I'm feeling better today. But Thinking about extending my leave a week. Just not sure I am ready psychologically to go back to work.   Joan

Day 2

Feeling pretty good. Having alot of gas today exspected that. But sometimes it was pretty bad. I'm still not really hungery. I had some jello and broth today and a 1/4 cup of a protein drink. Haven't taken any pain meds today. Might before bed though.   Joan

I'm home

I am feeling good. Got home about 11:00 this morning. I wanted to move in at the hospital. It was like a 5 star hotel with a nurse. I had my own private nurse for days and nights. I'm not even hungrey yet. I have had some decaff coffee about a half cup. Cranberry apple juice and a SF jello. The gas has hit today. But nothing so for that I can't live with. I haven't had to take anything for pain all day. I took a nap from 11:30 to 3:30. What did you dr say about stairs? My computer is downstairs. Of course DH's wireless connection would not work on his lap top. So I had to come downstairs to update all. Joan

Start liquid diet tomorrow...

My surgery is on Tuesday february 6th. I start my liquid diet tomorrow I'm getting a little nervous. Just need to finish up a few things. I want to write my daughter a letter just in case. But I'm sure nothing will happen. Just hope I can take tomorrow. Personally I think that wil be harder then the banding. I could never do the liquid diet for two weeks. Glad my surgeon does not require that.   Wish me luck Joan

Go tomorrow for my preop ...

I have an appt with my pcp dr tomorrow to do my preop testing. I have to go to Dr. Malley's office and take him a check. They require a 2000.00 deposit when you insurance is out of network. Don't really think I an getting nervous yet just wish it was over.   Joan

Got my date today...

I got my date today February 6th at 0800 am. I can't wait. I will probably have to quit my job. I don't have any vacation or sick. My boss said unless I can get FMLA approve before the surgery I will have to quit or reschedule my surgery. I'm not rescheduling I have waited to long. I would rather quit a job I don't like then reschedule for them.   Joan

The journey begins

So I have decide that lap band is for me. I'm just waiting for the insurance to tell Dr. Malley's office what they will pay. My DH will pay the balance. I'm excited but scared to death. My firend that has had lap band is doing GREAT. We go to church together. I wish she hadn't told everyone that I was going to have it. I'm not even going to tell my family until after. Cause it is my choice and I know the pro's and con's and I feel like if I am going to be her for my Darling daughter jillian I have to do something. I do wonderful until about 60 or 80 pounds and them something clicks and I gain it all back and some.   Joan
