SLOWER LOSER'S

This is for all of us who get discourage when we don't lose as fast as everyone else.   I read all these blogs about the quick weight lose or discouraged about only losing 10 pounds. I sometimes get discouraged because in almost a year I lost 40 lbs. The majority of this weight has been in last few months. I lose on average 1/2 or 1 pound a week. I work out 5 days a week. I felt like a failure for the first 6 months because I wasn't losing and put my family in such a financial debt. I have finally started losing steady and feeling good about myself. I just wanted to let the people out there know that everyone's body is different. Some lose fast and other's slow. Some feel restriction with surgery and many others 4 or 5 fill's later. Everyone is different. Everyone's opening to stomach is different. I have lost slow but my health is improving. I am off almost all medicine. I have more energy and my self confidence is out of this world. Don't get discourage because you didn't lose 25lbs first month like Joe Blow. We will all get there at our body's own pace. Take it one day at a time.

To fill or Not to fill

I have an appointment November 7th to have a fill but, I was thinking I wantto wait until after Thanksgiving. I am headed to my Grandma's in Alabama for Thanksgiving and really want to enjoy the holidays but at same time do not wantto jeaperdize my weight lose. My husband are driving from Texas and decided to stay a few days in New Orleans. I have never been to New Orleans but all my friends keep giving me restaruants I need to eat at. Why does entertainment always revolve around food? My question is should I wait until I get back so I may experience the food of New Orleans and Grandma's or stay on track to my weight loss goals.

The weighting game

I was banded November 18,2010. I haven't had much success with the band. I started out at 259 and I am only down to 247. I have become addicted to the scale. I wieght first thing when, before I eat, after I eat, before I shower, & after. I haven't felt any type of restriction. After surgery I lost 12 lbs but gained two after first fill. I went back to doctor Monday and only lost 2lbs after 2nd fill. The doctor didn't give me a third fill but schuduled me to go to hopital to do the test like after surgery where you drink that stuff. ( I can't think of the correct term.) He said he will fill me then but wanted to see excactly how big my passage to stomach is so he don't over fill. I am so ready to start losing. I have felt like a failure not losing weight after surgery. I work out and try my best at the diet but the scale stays the same. It's depressing reading all the blogs about peoples success when I am struggling.

Gaining weight and Fustrated

I had my surgury November 18,2010. I lost 10 lbs when I went to first follow up, since then I have slowly gained weight. I have not felt any restriction since my band. I am feeling really fustrated and depressed. I go back on the 24th of February for my 3rd fill. I went to my regular doctor today and seen that I that I gained another 3 lbs back. I started at 259 and went down to 249 and as of today back to 251. Has any one else gained weight with surgery? I feel like I wasted my money. I am tired of people asking how much weight have you lost? This is a worse feeling than growing up and people telling you need to lose weight for your own good. I feel trapped in this fat body and I want out.
