I'm back - again.

Back from my cruise and back to the Lap band eating. My eating was HORRIBLE during the cruise, and my exercise has been ZERO.   I'm refocussing and getting another fill August 6th. Until then, I'm eating lean meats, fruits and vegies and getting back into the exercise mode.   will post more later, extremely busy at work today since its my first day back.

Fill #11 was a No Go!

I went for fill #11 yesterday. I thought I would walk away very tight, not. You see, about 4 or 5 days out of the month, I have the perfect restriction. I finally figured out that this perfect restriction is when I'm ovulating and on my monthly. The rest of the month, I'm open. So anyhow, yesterday, I woke up, TIGHT. Not too tight, but tight enough that I had to sip on my coffee. So I went to get my fill and I told my doc that I would be leaving on my cruise on Friday.   Well, since I was leaving on Friday, and since I had good restriction, he would not fill me! He said he felt that if he filled me I might get too tight and I would be in the middle of the ocean with no doc around to unfill me and I might be sick my entire cruise. He thought I would enjoy the cruise more just the fill level that I was. So I left the office being restricted, but no fill. By yesterday afternoon I was wide open again. grrrrr. I am so frustrated.   He did tell me as soon as I get back from the cruise he will get me in and I don't have to have an appointment and he will get me a fill. He aslo gave me some appetite supresants for the cruise so I don't gain a bunch of weight.   So, fill #11 was a no go for me. shucks! I'm to the point now that it is just going to take a few drops to get me to a good restriction level, and I'm sure during my ovulation time and monthly I will be extremely tight once I get my fill and I might even have to be on liquids during that time.   Well, I'm off to the Eastern Carribean tomorrow, Its about a 22 hour drive to Florida - there are 20 of my family members going. We're going to have a great time I'm sure.   Here is my itinerary: Sunday, June 29, 2008 Miami, Florida-- Monday, June 30, 2008 Nassau, Bahamas Tuesday, July 1, 2008 Fun Day At Sea- Wednesday, July 2, 2008 St. Thomas, U.s. The past 6 to 8 months I've not like posting my weight on my anniversary, as you can see, it has stayed in the same range. Today makes 17 months since my banding. I am still struggling to get my fill just right. I thought my 10th fill would be the perfect amount, but I still believe I need a tad more. I still can eat anything, bread, steak etc. some days are tighter than others, but I find that it is only about 1 week out of the month that I have perfect restriction - and that is during my monthly. sometimes when I ovulate I am tighter, but again, that is just a few days out of the month. I will be going for fill #11 next week, right before my cruise. I know some might think I'm crazy, but I'm sick of not losing so I don't care if I am tight on the cruise. I don't want to gain on the cruise, I actually would like to lose a few pounds while on the cruise - this will be a first if that happens. The average weight gain for a cruise is 10 pounds and I've always gained weight while on a cruise. Always, at least 5 lbs, last year, I think I only gained around 3 or 4, I can't remember. Well, it hurts, but I have to be honest with myself - so here is my weight history since banding......month by month. I am still determined to finish this race by my 2 year anniversary! I want to lose and hit my goal, I will lose and hit my goal! I will not give up and I will not quit until I reach my goal! Highest weight - 248 1 mo post op - 206.8 2 mo post op - 198 3 mo post op - 193 4 mo post op - 184.2 5 mo post op - 178 6 mo post op – 174 7 mo post op - 178 - went on vacation and ate big (7 day cruise) 8 mo post op - 174 9 mo post op - 170 10 mo post op- 167 11 mo post op - 170 - haven’t even been trying 12 mo post op - 174 - again, not trying. But finally refocused - exactly where I was at 6 mos post op – so basically no weight loss in the past 6 mos 13 mo post op - 183 - Ouch! started taking steroids and made my weight go up, along with not eating right and no exercise! 14 mo post op - 185 - grrrrr 15 mo post op - 180 - weight is finally going down, but inches are actually coming off faster since I've been exercising a lot. 16 mo post op - 178 17 mo post op - 175

Well tomorrow makes my 17 month Band Anniversary. I am still struggling with my weight, however, I need to stay focussed. I don't know what is wrong with me? I seem to fall off the wagon so easy these days.   Anyhow, I will continue to try and hopefully soon I will win and will get my mind right!   Todays menu   Doing a cleanse so drinking some lemonade /maple syrup - its called the master cleanse.   Exercise - I did go exercise last night, and plan on doing it again tonight!   Wt 178

Eating has sucked, exercise has sucked - but still trying to get back on track!   I was wide open last week, I mean wide open! Ate anything and everything and hungry all the time. I seem to be tighter today, and TOM just came for his monthly visit. I seem to be always extremely loose right before TOM and tighten back up during TOM. I'm bloated and holding so much water, it hurts to walk, my feet tingle I'm so bloated. GRRRRRR.   Today's menu:   Bfast - weight wise oatmeal   Lunch two chicken tenders - grilled   Dinner - not sure yet?   Exercise - I haven't in the last week and a half, maybe I will finally get back to the gym tonight!

Well, I took a break from my journal it looks like. But It's time to refocuss on it.   I had a mini vacation at the lake, ate too much and didn't get much exercise.   I've slacked in exercise for the past few weeks, its time to get back in gear! What am I thinking? My cruise is in 24 more days!!!!!! I am still fat as ever!   Wt - 177.9 - I've gone up a few pounds   Menu today -   Bfast bowl of fresh fruit   Lunch artichoke nectarine grapes   (weird lunch I know - but I've had the weirdest craving lately)   Dinner - Tuna   Exercise - 45 min on elliptical

Life is good - The scale is steadily moving down, although the 2nd time around trying to lose this is a lot SLOWER. I'm losing a steady 1 pound per week, I wish it was more, but I am just glad the scale is moving down!   I had a great workout last night, was in the gym about an hour and 1/2. I did 45 min cardio and about 3o to 45 min on the weights, worked my biceps, triceps, shoulders, back, and chest. Did a total of 45 on the elliptical. I am doing circuit training these days. Below is about how I do my circuit training:   15 min - Elliptical (I get my heartbeat up) Jump off Elliptical - did some Pectorial Flys (works the chest) 3 sets and then jumped on the tricep machine and did another 3 sets.   Jumped back on the Elliptical machine - for another 10 minutes - to get my heartbeat back up   Jumped off and worked my biceps (did curls) and shoulders (a killer workout)   Jumped back on my elliptical, this time I did 20 minutes = a total of 45 minutes   Finished the evening working my back.........   I figured out I burned around 550 to 600 calories last night - 450 just on the elliptical machine - I love the elliptical machine!   Todays Menu   Bfast 1 serving of mini wheat ceral/skim milk, 1 sliced strawberry & some blueberries mixed in   Lunch Grilled chicken breast   Dinner ground beef salad   Exercise Circuit training - lower body/abs   wt - 176.1

Things going about the same....I had another accident this weekend with my poor body. lol. I was moving a huge branch from my neighbors yard, and well, it was heavy and fell on my foot. Now my foot is so swollen and black and blue, I can't wear any shoes except very loose flip flops. grrrrr.   I had to sit the gym out, but last night, I couldn't take it anymore and went to the gym. I did 45 min on the elliptical and worked my lower body out. Had a great abs workout! My foot paid the price later, and I'm still paying for it today, very swollen.   Menu today   Bfast oatmeal   Lunch chicken breast - grilled grilled veggies   Dinner protein shake   Oh - I took my measurements last night too - I'm going to start tracking them as well again. Since the scale is not moving, maybe my inches are - trying to not get discouraged.   Waist - 36" Hips - 44" - scary thighs 23 1/2" - calves - 15 3/4" chest - 39 1/2 arms (biceps) - 13" forearm - 9" neck - 14 1/2"   according to my measurements, my body fat is 41% - I'm in poor range, and I'm 24 lbs over the ideal - the most fat I should have is 36% - so, I still have a long way to go. :thumbup:

51 more days until my cruise and a long way to go to get my body in shape :thumbdown:   I had such a good workout last night, I'm convinced that circuit training might be the way to go! I worked my upperbody so hard, I could not even hold my purse last night. I think I burned over 600 calories last night.   Woke up this morning, cramping, bloated and just felt like - crap. Weighed in, even though I didn't want too, felt too fat to even step on the scales....to my surprise, down another pound from last week, even with TOM! So, I was pleased, even though it was only a pound, I'll take it, yes I will, I will take every ounce I lose these days.   Wt - 177.3   Exercise Circuit training - lower body/elliptical

Todays plans   Menu Bfast - I had 2 slices of bacon 1/2 sausage patte - full - couldn't eat my egg   Lunch hmmm - lunch time right now, not even hungry, but will try and drink a protein shake   Dinner fish, talapia - yum   Workout Circuit training - upper body and cardio mixed. Planned on doing it last night, but didn't make it.   wt - 178.1   Tommorow is another big weight in day for me, I weighed last Friday 178.7, so hoping to at least be in the 177 area. I've been averaging 1 freaken pound a week. But hey, I will take it I guess....what choice do I have anyhow. lol.

Short weekend, busy weekend, but finally able to post to my blog.   Went to see Kenny Chesney, ate at Toby Keith's restraunt (I Love this Bar & Grill). I got the ribs & chicken, ate the ribs and 1 bite of chicken - full. I did have a drink, strawberry margrita - liquid calories, I know, but hey, I was having a good time :thumbdown:   Bought another drink at the concert - $12.00 for basically sugar. Won't ever do that again!   My daughter had a great time, it was her first concert.   The Friday night festivals threw me off the weekend, Didn't exercise at all all weekend! Sunday night my son was playing in a concert for family & friends, we had a cookout, I ate pretty healthy, made me chicken, but did have a little macaroni salad - yum.   Yesterday, my band was WIDE OPEN, I could eat anything and everything and basically did. Very hungry yesterday, not sure what the heck was going on.   This morning, back to restriction again. So glad of that :bored:   I am going to be so dead in a few hours, first of all, didn't get to bed until around 12:30 last night, got out of bed at 4:00 am this morning. My son had to be at the airport by 5:30 this morning. He is flying to Reno with his school. He won first place in the State competition on his Business Essay, now he is competing in the Nationals. He'll be gone for 6 whole days! I'm so proud of my boy! He's such a good kid, an all american boy. If I can just keep those darned girls away from him. lol.   Anyhow, didn't get much sleep, so I'm sure it will catch up with me soon!   Menu today   Bfast blueberry yogurt/granola   Lunch salad   Dinner roasted chicken   wt 180.7 - YUCK - TOM IS DUE   exercise -

5/2/08 - 58 more days!

58 more days until my cruise and 18 pounds to go! I am a little frustrated this morning - I have been tracking my calories burned at the gym, I'm burning anywhere from 350 to 600 calories - and still the scale is not moving very much at all! I think it hates me, I really do.   Last night had a great workout - did about 35 min on elliptical (burned around 300 calories, also did 15 min earlier in the day yesterday, which I burned 145 calories - then did about 40 min of strength training - another 150 calories = 595 calories) I ate about 1100 calories -   I'm hoping something gives real soon, I can't take the scale not moving much longer! :cursing:Please scale, give me a 2 pound loss - I would love 3 next week. Won't you please?   wt - 178.3 (last friday it was 179 - .70 loss):crying:   Menu -   Bfast 1/4 of a colorado omlet from Ihop   Lunch 1/2 hamburger (no bread)   Dinner not sure yet?   Exercise - will try and make it to the elliptical for 20 - 30 min today. However, leaving to go out of town this afternoon to see Kenny Chesney with my daughter :thumbup:   PS - I think TOM might come pretty soon, so hopefully thats the reason for the scale being so mean to me:cool:

5/1/08 - 59 more days!

59 more days until my cruise - yippeee.   Last month, I made a goal to really focus on my exercises, and I did. I feel like I've accomplished that. I'm making it to the gym at least 5 days per week. And I'm also doing something while at work, taking breaks and jumping on the elliptical machine in our gym at work.   I planned on doing a lot of strength training last night, but was not able to - but did do 35 min on the elliptical. Managed to burn about 450 calories yesterday between the exercise I did at work, and the elliptical I did last night.   Since its the beginning of the month - here are some things I want to focuss on -   1) my late night eating! I barely eat anything for dinner, if I even eat, but at about 11:00 pm - I'm starving! So, we will need to work on that!   2) Continue to focuss on exercise - need to really up my strength training.   3) Work on my cruise challenge (60 day challenge goals)   Wt - 178.9 - I know I said I wasn't going to weigh, but by golly, I just can't help it. Its like the scale has a magnet on it drawing me to it every morning. I was pleased to see it went down a little. I'm hoping it continues!:crying:   Menu -   Bfast 1 egg scrambler with meat & veggies topped with salsa   snack handful of asion nuts   Lunch leftover from lunch yesterday - smoked turkey and green beans   snack freshstrawberries (3 small, and about 10 grapes)   Dinner talapia - 2 oz, grilled, topped with homemade salsa and cilantro (new recipe I'm trying) and fresh steamed spinach, plan on making brown rice as well, might have a spoonful of that!   Exercise   10:00 am - just got back from 16 min on elliptical (burned 145 calories)   3:00 pm - plan on doing another 15 min of elliptical   Evening at the gym - 6:15-6:25 attending the abs, abs, abs class at the gym   6:30 - 7:00 - elliptical   9:30 - upper/lower body workout.   Are we having fun yet?

4/30/08 - countdown is on until my cruise

60 days baby, 60 days until I'm sailing across the ocean, with an umbrella drink in my hand! Oh I can't wait!   Todays menu   Bfast 1 scrambled egg with sausage/ham/veggies in it   Lunch out to lunch with friends, going to go to a bar-b-que joint, planning on getting the smoked chicken with green beans - no potatoes.   Dinner - hmmm - not sure yet, we will have leftovers tonight since we have our bible/book study tonight at our house - don't want to stink up the house with cooking - I probably will just drink a protein shake with added strawberries & maybe a little oatmeal. yum.   Exercise   10 am - 20 min elliptical   3:00 pm - 15 min elliptical   Planning on hitting the gym tonight after the book study and working my upper and lower body, also going to do 30 min of elliptical- I plan on being at the gym for a good 1 1/2 hours tonight.   Wt - 180.6 - grrrrrrrr - Tom will be here next week, not sure if that is why the scale is bouncing, but I'm staying focused. Will not weigh again until Monday. Well, at least I'm going to try not to weigh until then. :crying:

I had a great workout last night on the elliptical machine, burned 340 calories! I'm building my strength back up and was able to do over 30 min on it last night. I'm trying to get back to 45 min. Slowly but surely!   I have 61 days until my cruise. Here is a challenge to myself -   1) For the next 60 days I will do a minimum of 45 min of cardio 5 days a week. This means I can go down during break and do 15 min on each break = 30 min, and in the evening I will do some at the gym!   2) For the next 60 days I will do strength training a minimum of 3 days a week.   3) For the next 60 days, I will work out 6 days per week!   4) For the next 60 days I will NOT have any chocolate. None!   5) For the next 60 days I will work my abs out 3x per week. I plan on attending the abs abs abs class at the gym. Oh yeah.   6) For the next 60 days I will lose a minimum of 15 lbs, my goal is 20, but will shoot for 15 for sure.   7) For the next 60 days I will focus on my diet - making healthy choices - no cheating.   8) For the next 60 days, I will tan - (already started this)   9) For the next 60 days its all about me!   10) For the next 60 days, I will get out of bed and do some sort of exercise before I get ready for work - even if its just stretching.   Yes, just 61 days and I will be sailing out in the ocean! Heading for St. Thomas, St. Marten and Bahamas - I'm so ready for this. I just hope I do better than my cruise last year (when I fell and had to have surgery :w00t:)   Okay - I owe, I owe, I owe, so off to work I go..............

Well, didn't make it to the gym over the weekend, but I did get plenty of exercise working the special olympics.....I was so tired - but I had a great time.   Back on the plan today   Menu Bfast - the inside of a sausage roll - no break   Lunch 1 bag of cashews - 1/2 container of yogurt (yes I know, eating on the run)   Dinner 2 oz of roast salad - 1 cup   Exercise - 10 am - 15 min on Elliptical   Evening exercise - upper body workout - 30 min on elliptical   Wt - didn't weigh today

Boy the scale sure does move slow!

Good bye - this time its FOREVER! 4/23/08

Good bye to the 180's, and this time, it is forever! You are not coming back into my life EVER again! I weighed this morning and dropped out of the 180's and into the 170's. I've been here before, and gained back up to the 180's but this time, never again!   It felt soooo good to see the 179 this morning, I'm so happy to be back into the 170's. I'm hoping to get back into the 160's soon! Exercise my friends is the key! I'm convinced more than ever.   Speaking of exercise, I had a great workout last night. I was sweaten' like a whore in church on Sunday morning! It felt so good to sweat and I felt like I really was buring the calories.   Menu today -   Bfast - protein shake, made with skim milk, 1 scoop of vanila whey protein powder, 2 strawberries and 1/3 of a banana and some raw oatmeal. YUM.   Lunch - going out for lunch today with some friends, so not sure but I like the scale moving down, so you can bet it will be healthy!   Dinner -   Exercise

Today is another hectic day, we have our meeting tonight, work today is full of stuff, I have 2 big conference calls, a meeting at 3:30 today that I have to speak at, and then tomorrow we have our big wigs coming into the office, I'm so stressed!   I need a day off to do absolutely nothing!

Crazy weekend, busy weekend and did not that great at eating. 4/18/08 - 15 month banding anniversary

Today marks 15 months since my banding experience. Update on my fill

I hate to type it down for fear that it will go away, but I'm tight again. Not too tight, but just right tight! Today makes the 10th day since my fill and it really feels like it kicked in. Like I said, I hate to really say it out loud, I'm fearful it will go away. lol.   I made another appointment to get another fill yesterday because I was so frustrated, and of course they cannot get me in until JUNE 25TH! I hate that it takes now over 2 months to get a fill, crazy.   But anyhow, I might not need to go now, I'm going to go ahead and keep it on the books, just in case.   Here is an example - I'm eating lunch - a tortia wrap, I usually can eat a whole one, well, I'm stuffed on half of it. Completely satisfied, actually there is no way I could eat another bite.   I'm wondering if exercise is making me more restricted? Either way, I like it. So, we'll see what tomorrow will bring............

Bfast - My famous protein shake - same as yesterday   Lunch - wrap, made with lc tortia, filled with a salad that has chicken breast in it   Dinner - grilled veggies & quail (made a stir fry type dish, very tasty)   Exercise - 32 min on recumbant bike - burned around 170 calories   Wt - 180.1   Notes - I'm really getting back to my exercise program and I am so happy about that! I did wake up this morning and have some pain in my right knee, so I am going to have to slow it down a bit I think. I will ice it down today to see if that helps. I sure don't want a set back.   My abs still hurt a bit, it hurts to sneeze, so I must have worked them hard! My thighs also hurt. But its a good kind of hurt. I can already feel changes in my body, I feel smaller, even though the scales don't really show it, I know that I am shrinking. I feel good!

Menu -   Protein shake, made with 1/4 cup oatmeal/2 strawberries/skim milk/1/4 banana - its feeling and gives me so much energy - I added up the calories for the shake 1 cup skim milk - 80 cal 9g Protein 2 strawberries - 8 cal - 0 protein 1/4 of a banana - 23 cal - 0 protein 1 scoop protein powder - 120 cal - 23g protein ______________________________ Total cal 231 total protein - 32   I think that is a pretty good amount of protein for bfast! And not bad on calaories, and the fact it feels me up until lunch, and gives me energy, it beats the coffee with cream   Lunch was on the run, so swung thru starbucks and got the carmel light frappacino - 220 calories   Snack string cheese - 80 calories   Dinner 2 oz of chicken breast - 96 salad - 225 salsa as my dressing with just a squeeze of ranch - 50   Total Calories for salad- 371   Total calories for the day - 902   I probably had a bit more calories because I did have a bite of granola bar, and a few bites of my dd sandwhich. So, maybe I had 1000 or 1050.   Exerice - Oh yeah, I worked it!   16 min on Elliptical Upper body workout - Triceps (they are already hurtin) Biceps, shoulders, back, chest Elliptical Machine - 10 min - I was planning on doing about 25 min, however, after about 10 min my knee started popping so I got off, I didn't want it to give out on me and I go down like a bag of bricks. I knew if that happened, I would have a major set back, so I decided that was my clue to get off the machine.
