WE WENT ON A TRAIL WHICH IS OF COURSE EASIER TO RIDE BUT I GOTTA TELL YA - I NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS WOULD HAVE THOUGHT I COULD EVER DO THIS. REMEMBER I HAVE FIBROMYALGIA. LAST TIME I RODE MY BIKE WAS 2 YRS. AGO AND I WAS 50 LBS HEAVIER AND COULD ONLY DO A TOTAL OF 4 MILES AND IT JUST ABOUT KILLED ME FOR REAL!!! You are losing 1-2 pounds per week.
If you are not losing 1-2 pounds per week:
A. You may need an eating adjustment
1. Are you eating 60 grams of protein a day
2. Are you eating 25 grams of fiber
3. Are you avoiding all liquid calories
a. Soup can be sign of “soft calorie syndrome”
b. Alcohol contains a lot of calories – 7 calories per gram
(1) It’s also a stomach irritant
c. Fruit juice is just sugar water
4. Are you making healthy food choices from a wide variety of
foods?
a. Are you avoiding soft foods
b. You can’t just eat what’s easy
c. Cheese is glorified fat
5. Are you drinking 6-8 glasses of water a day between meals
6. Are you eating too much junk
a. Chips, chocolate, nuts, ice cream, cookies and other highly
processed junk foods are too calorically dense to be regular parts of a
healthy diet. But don’t avoid them completely to the point where you

a. With maybe 1 or 2 small snacks
3. Are you sitting down to eat?
4. Are you eating consciously?
a. No distractions, turn off the TV, put the book or newspaper
away, pay attention to your food and your companions
5. Are you eating slowly?

n. Take an antacid (Pepcid complete) before retiring
o. Try other over-the-counter heartburn medications
p. See your health care provider
4. See your health care provider immediately (or call 911) if
a. You have a squeezing, tightness or heaviness in your chest,
especially if the discomfort spreads to your shoulder, arm or jaw or is
accompanied by shortness of breath, sweating, irregular or fast
heartbeat or nausea. These could be symptoms of a heart attack.
b. If your symptoms are triggered by exercise.
c. If your pain localizes to your right side, especially if you
also have nausea or fever
d. If you throw up vomit that looks like black sand or coffee
grounds. Or if your stool is black, deep red or looks like it has tar
in it. These are symptoms of bleeding and need immediate attention.
(Note: Pepto-Bismol or other medications with bismuth will turn your
stool black. Iron supplements can also make the stool tarry.)

Well after a month of not losing any weight (5 months out and 50lbs less) and being able to pretty much eat what I want and as much as I want if I didn't stop, and soooo ready to schedule another fill, guess what happens today? - yep - yet another episode of sliming and throwing up and would you believe - after a protein shake? GO FIGURE!!!! Grrrrr - now I am at a loss to know what to do - get a fill or not???? I even stepped up my exercise. I have been taking two long walks daily instead of one and I also started some exercising in my hottub as much as tolerated. I have fibromyalgia. I swear I have the most finicky band ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
JUST WHEN I THOUGHT I WAS DONE WITH SLIMING AND THROWING UP, I HAD YET ANOTHER EPISODE TODAY WHILE EATING CORN ON THE COB. YEP, DUMMY ME - THOUGHT I COULD ACHIEVE THIS DUMB FEAT! LESSON LEARNED - NO MORE CORN ON THE COB FOR ME!!!! I HAVEN'T HAD AN EPISODE LIKE THAT FOR AT LEAST A MONTH OR MORE PRIOR.
Has anyone out there struggling with losing wt. post banding tried this diet? I have and I must say - it is very hard to do but it is only for 5 days which is do able! You def lose wt. and it gets you back on track. It gives you your restriction back. So if you are tired of getting fills - try this and see if it helps for you! Good luck!

I HAD AN MRI OF MY LS SPINE LAST WK. IT SHOWED ARTHRITIS OF SPINE. PAIN CLINIC WANTS TO INJECT MY SPINE WITH PAIN MED WHICH WOULD LAST UP TO 3 MONTHS. IT IS A 20 MIN PROCEDURE AND THEY INSERT A NEEDLE INTO THE SPINE AND TAKE PICS AND THEN INJECT WHEN THEY FEEL IT WILL BE MOST BENEFICIAL. (THE ALTERNATIVE WOULD BE TO TAKE THE ORAL PAIN PILLS OR PAIN PATCH BUT I AM AFRAID OF GETTING ADDICTED). I AM SCARED TO DEATH OF GETTING THIS NEEDLE PROCEDURE DONE. Well it happened to me today! I thought I would try out a packet of tuna without the water as I have never had it before. Well not thinking, I ate it without moistening it first. Well it didn't take long until I was in total miserable pain of being "stuck". I thought I would die. After about 5 minutes of this torture, I started sliming and then totally throwing up. Lesson learned - do not eat dry packaged tuna without moistening it first. Sometimes I can be so stupid it seems! Lol

I went to my Dr. appt. today. I lost 10 lbs. this month for a total of 40 lbs. Yeh! I also got 1/4 cc of a fill. Total fill of 5 1/4 cc in a 10 cc band. I don't feel any restriction yet though. That is really weird. I tried for the second time to get off of the Lyrica for my fibromyalgia since it causes wt. gain, but I had to get back on the med as the pain was just too unbearable. Why does life have to be so difficult some times? Oh well - I am happy about the lost wt. Have a wonderful day!

SKIM MILK 1 CUP SPLENDA (SUGAR SUBSTITUTE) 1 TEASPOON VANILLA, BEAT ALL TOGETHER IN AN OVEN PROOF CONTAINER SUCH AS PYREX. SPRINKLE SOME CINNEMON AND NUTMEG ON TOP. BAKE IN OVEN 1 HR. AT 325 DEGREES. LET SET TILL COOL. IT WILL THICKEN AS IT SETS. THIS IS SIMPLY DELICIOUS!!!! YOU COULD EVEN TOP WITH FAT FREE COOL WHIP IF YOU WISH. ENJOY!

I ORDERED STUFFED CHICKEN BREAST AND MASHED POTATOES WITH GRAVY AND SALAD AND I EVEN HAD A BIT OF HOMEMADE BREAD. I ALSO HAD A SMALL SCOOP OF RAINBOW ICECREAM FOR DESSERT! I ONLY HAD A BIT OF EVERYTHING AND GAVE THE REST TO MY HUSBAND. EVERYTHING WENT DOWN WELL AND NOTHING GOT STUCK! IT TASTED SO GOOD! THE ONLY BAD PART IS - TUESDAY IS WEIGH IN DAY AT THE DR. JAN. 31, 2011 - MONDAY - 2 WK. POST OP - WELL I HAD MY DR. APPT. TODAY. I LOST 4 MORE LBS. FOR A TOTAL OF 30. YEH! I WAS ADVANCED TO REG. DIET. I AM TO GO BACK IN 2 WKS. AND THEY WILL XRAY MY BAND TO CHECK POSITION AND FOR A "FILL" IF I WANT ONE. YEH! I AM GLAD TODAY IS THE LAST DAY OF JAN. - GEEZ!!!! WHAT A LONG AND COLD MONTH! FEB. WILL BE BETTER. AT LEAST IT IS SHORT. AND VALENTINE'S DAY! (SWEET) LAST WK. WAS LONG AND DEPRESSING FOR ME. GLAD IT IS OVER AS WELL. IT WAS GOOD TO GET OUT OF THE HOUSE FOR THE FIRS TIME THIS WK. TODAY. I EVEN WENT TO WALMART TO DO SOME SHOPPING AFTER MY DR. APPT. THAT WAS MY EXERCISE. MY LEG HURT TERRIBLY THOUGH WHEN I GOT HOME FROM MY FIBROMYALGIA. I JUST CAN'T WIN IT SEEMS. BUT IT IS OK NOW. I AM RELAXING. SO FOR MY SUPPER I HAD A SMALL PORK CUTLET WITH MUSHROOMS, SOME GREEN BEANS, A LIL SPOONFUL OF APPLESAUCE, AND A FEW BLUEBERRIES WITH A SPOONFUL OF FAT FREE WHIP CREAM. TASTED HEAVENLY. THE PORK WAS A LIL ROUGH TO GET DOWN THOUGH. A LIL DRY. IT SUCKS THAT YA CAN'T DRINK ANYTHING. I HAD TO WAIT 1/2 HR. TO DRINK. IT SEEMS YOU GET SO THIRSTY AT MEALTIME. DON'T IT FIGURE! WELL IT SEEMS LIKE MORE AND MORE PEOPLE ON THIS SITE ARE HAVING THEIR SURGERY SOON. LOTS OF COMPANY TO TALK TO. THAT'S GREAT! JAN. 24, 2011 - MONDAY - 1 WK. POST OP - WELL I WENT TO MY DR. APPT. TODAY. I LOST 10 MORE LBS. TOTAL WT. LOSS 26 LBS. YEH! MY STERI STRIPS WERE TAKEN OFF AND THE INCISIONS ARE HEALING WELL. MY DIET WAS ADVANCED TO PUREED. NO MORE PROTEIN SHAKES - YEH! I AM TO RETURN IN 1 WK. FOR MY NEXT APPT. I WENT TO WALMART TO CELEBRATE BY BUYING SOME NONFAT AND SUGAR FREE FOOD FOR MYSELF. WHEN I GOT HOME I MADE MYSELF SOME PUREED TUNA WITH A BIT OF FAT FREE MIRACLE WHIP AND HAD SOME NO ADDED SUGAR APPLESAUCE AND A SMALL CONTAINER OF HIGH FIBER PEACH YOGURT. IT TASTED YUMMY! I FELT SATISFIED. I HAVE TO REMEMBER THOUGH - NO DRINKING 1/2 HR. BEFORE OR AFTER A MEAL. AND NO MORE THAN 3/4 CUP OF FOOD EACH MEAL. I THINK I OVERDID IT TODAY - I AM VERY TIRED SO I THINK I WILL GO TO BED NOW! GOODNITE ALL!!!!
JAN. 23, 2011 - SUNDAY - DAY 6 POST OP - WELL I GOT UP EARLY THIS AM AT 6:30 AM. COULDN'T SLEEP! SO I CAME DOWNSTAIRS AND GOT ON MY LAPTOP AND STARTED READING OTHERS' BLOGS. VERY INTERESTING!!! AND ENJOYABLE - I MIGHT ADD!!! BEFORE I KNEW IT - MY LIL GRANDSON WAS AWAKE - SO THAT MEANS - OK GRANDMA - YOU'RE GONNA HAVE A BUSY DAY! HA HA. LUV HIM TO DEATH. LOL. - ANYWAYS, TODAY IS THE STEELERS/JETS CHAMPIONSHIP PLAYOFF GAME AT 4:30 PM - SO I WILL BE CONCENTRATING ON THAT. I AM SO LOOKING FORWARD TO IT. VERY ANXIOUS!!! JAN. 22, 2011 - SATURDAY - DAY 5 POST OP - WELL THE DAYS ARE GOING FAST IT SEEMS! MONDAY IS ALMOST HERE! MY FIRST POST OP VISIT WITH THE DOC! CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IF I LOST ANY MORE WT.? GEEZ - IT SEEMS LIKE THAT IS ALL THAT IS ON MY MIND ANY MORE! LOL. WELL - THAT CERTAINLY IS BETTER THAN THINKING ABOUT FOOD ALL THE TIME INSTEAD!!! MY PANTS DO SEEM TO FIT LOOSER EACH MORNING. YEH! I HAVE NOT WEIGHED MYSELF SINCE SURGERY DAY LAST MONDAY! I HAVE BEEN FAITHFUL TO MY LIQUID DIET. STILL HAVING THINNED CREAM OF WHEAT MADE WITH WATER, AND THINNED TOMATOE SOUP MADE WITH WATER ALSO. AND OF COURSE THE DREADED - CHOCOLATE PROTEIN SHAKES IN BETWEEN! ALSO HAD SOME CHICKEN BROTH AND SUGAR FREE POPSICLES. ALL IN ALL I SEEM TO FILL SATISFIED. I ALSO HAD MY FIRST B.M. YEH! DIDN'T THINK THAT WAS EVER GONNA HAPPEN! GEEZ! HA HA. I HAVE NOT BEEN WALKING - I KNOW VERY BAD - BUT MY GRANDSON HAS BEEN HERE WITH ME THIS WEEKEND (HE'S ONLY 5) AND HE HAS BEEN KEEPING ME VERY BUSY TO SAY THE LEAST, SO I AM SURE I HAVE BEEN GETTING ALOT OF EXERCISE! JAN. 21, 2011 - FRIDAY - DAY 4 POST OP - FELT SO BETTER AFTER MY SHOWER AND BANDAGES TAKEN OFF. THE PAIN IS LESS AND LESS ALSO. I DID NOT EVEN TAKE THE CHILDREN'S LIQUID TYLENOL LAST NIGHT BEFORE BED. I NEVER DID TAKE ANYTHING FOR THE GAS PAINS, I JUST WALKED. I HAVE NOT BEEN FEELING TOO HUNGRY SO I GUESS THE CREAM OF WHEAT FOR BREAKFAST AND TOMATOE SOUP FOR SUPPER AND THE PROTEIN SHAKES IN BETWEEN HAVE BEEN ENOUGH. JUST A COUPLE DAYS NOW TILL MY FIRST POST OP VISIT WITH DR. MARLEY. I AM WONDERING WHEN AND IF I WILL GET AN ADJUSTMENT OR "FILL". THE ONLY THING I AM AM HAVING TROUBLE WITH RIGHT NOW IS TRYING TO GET THE SUPPLEMENTS DOWN. THEY ARE HUGE. THE MULTIVITAMIN AND CALCIUM SUPPLEMENTS. I AM SUPPOSED TO CHEW THEM BUT THEY TASTE CHALKY AND GRITTY AND I AM AFRAID THEY WILL MAKE ME GAG AND THROW UP. I DON'T WANT TO DO THAT OF COURSE. SO I HAVE BEEN BREAKING THEM INTO LITTLE PIECES AND TAKING WITH WATER BUT IT TAKES FOREVER AND THEY ARE STILL VERY HARD AND I AM AFRAID OF THEM GETTING STUCK ON THE WAY DOWN. ANY SUGGESTIONS OUT THERE? MY BLOOD SUGAR READING ARE STAYING WITHIN PRETTY GOOD LIMITS STILL WITHOUT THE MEDICINE. SO FAR SO GOOD. I KEEP WONDERING IF I LOST ANY MORE WT.?
