Officially a Bandster

Yesterday was my day of surgery and everything went real good. I walked a lot while in the hospital to help with gas. I am in a little pain from the incisions but other than that not much pain. I will be on liquids this week then get to move on to pureed foods by the end of the week. Hope everyone is well!   Allison

Two Days to Banding!

Hello Everyone,   I am officially only two days away from being banded! I am super excited but also nervous. The lap band will be a new beginning for me. I have struggled with my weight for most of my life. I have tried every diet known to man. After much discussion with my husband we decided that the lap band would be best for me and the both of us. So, I started my journey.....   First- my appointment with the surgeon went very well. I was a great candidate for the Lap Band since my BMI is 44.... I was totally shocked when I found this out. Second - my appointment with the nutritionist, it was very helpful in seeing what I would be eating after I was banded. Third -my second appointment with the surgeon to set the date. I chose a date that would allow me to be off of work and not miss anything that meant the week before Christmas, Dec 17th. (My surgeon was like what are you thinking! I was thinking no better time than the present!) Fourth- the pre-op diet I started on Dec 10th and boy was it hard. But I have been doing it, clear liquids all week ONLY!!! Only one more day left.   So to continue my journey I only have one day left of clear liquids then it will be time for my banding journey to begin......   let it begin! Allison
