Hello everyone! I am new to the site and to bloging so bare with me:smile:
I am having my surgery one week from today and I have my pre=op appointment tomorrow. I am really excited, nervous, and scared. So many emotions, I don't know what to think. I do have a great support system at home and at work. It is really exciting though to read what you are all going through and to know that you are not alone and that I won't be either.
I have blue cross blue shield of Florida. I have been working on all the pre-reqs since Nov. of last year. I had to get five years of medical history, six months of documented weight loss with my primary doctor, lab tests and a psych eval. Once my surgeon submitted all that it only took ten days to get my approval back.
Anyways, thanks for listening, and I will re-post after my pre-op visit.
Hello everyone,
I am now five days post-op and have lost ten pounds. The surgery went well and I went home in a day and a half. I now have developed an infection, but nothing that antibiotics can't take care of. I am still really sore but very optimistic about the future. I have nothing good to say about the choice i made!
Okay, so I am really confused about the pre-op diet. I see where so many of you have had to do a liquid diet for almost two weeks before your surgery. My surgeon does not have me doing this. He has me on a high protien diet. So I am I right in assuming every doctor has their own way of doing things?
