Bumping up my workout....

i put in 75 mins one the treadmill today-felt great! been doing 3 mile walking DVDs all week too....trying to cut my calories and increase my w/o! my food diary told me that i was still over by about 600 calories a day... So i've cut my portions in 1/2. i never feel full - so i have to just make myself stop eating.... but i am not "absolutely starving" either. i will speak to my doc Monday (6/28)and get his opinion on another small fill. What does it sound like to you guys?:smile:

why are the "RULES" so different from Dr to Dr?

how can it be that "the rules" are SO SO different from Dr. to Dr.??? i can't have creamed soup but somebody else can....one Dr says "ok" to soda, gum, and fruit juice but another says "no way!" How can it be that there is no consisteney or regulations?

Pool Party....

-yesterday I went to a pool party with my husband. I went in the water. I ddnt feel too selfconscious...I kept the towel wrapped around me when i was not in the pool though. -I ate pretty well...chicken & pineapple shish kabob (grilled)...a little dip here and there as the conversation ran on...I even nibbled a pc of my hubby's choc chip cookie (my so called friend made them homemade!! extra chips!!!! she's no friend of mine!!!:angry:LOL!) -The hostess made this WONDERFUL dessert: fresh fruit and yogurt!!! It was fabulous!!! i pretended it was ice cream!! LOL! :thumbup: -I figured all in all I probably went over 1000 calories, but my new motto has been: ITS WAAAAAY LESS THAN I WOULD HAVE EATEN BEFORE I WAS BANDED!!! and that's true! so i'm going to just keep moving forward. Happy Sunday All!!!!

Guess what......? I need a BELT!!

I went to the doctor Friday (not my LAP-BAND®® Doc). Since this was the same office that I logged my start weight in, during my office visit for my pre-approval process, I decided to step on the scale (when no one was looking!!:smile:) ....aaaaannnnnd..... I AM DOWN 16 POUNDS!! at first it didn't hit me. I just hopped off the scale and back on the table before the doc came in.....but then the pants and shorts that I wore this w/e were VERY loose!! they didnt fit anymore! wow! i reached for a BELT!! never thought I'D be so happy to need a belt!!! this is just what I needed to shake the "discouraged mode" that I'd been in!! I go to my LB Doc Monday (6/28) so I am being VERY deligent about counting my calories, logging my food and doing my exercise------> everyday!!! I hope to be down even more by the time I weigh in at his office!! :smile2::thumbup::laugh:

my husband loves me!!!

I figure since I talked about my "meanie daddy" yesterday, I should take a moment today to tell everyone that I have an awesome, supportive, fantastic husband!!! but the "worse" part (i think it's worse?) is that he looooooves "healthy, full-figured women"!!! so he loves all of my curves and thinks i'm beautiful!! he admires me all the time...dressed, undressed, in a t-shirt, bathing suit or ball gown, he thinks i'm beautiful!!! BUT he knows how much i am unhappy w/my weight, so he is very supportive of me choosing the lapband.:frown:

back to school... back to "old habits"???

I've been setting up my classroom for the last 2 weeks...early in to school, late out (12 hours a day).... I haven't been able to exercise at all!!!! by the time I get home and throw dinner together, I'm ready to pass out! and i do!!! I've gone no where near a scale!! At first i found myself slipping back into old eating habits, but then i stopped. back to packing my lunch i go!!! I haven't been logging or counting calories...I haven't exercised but I still have good restriction and i am still eating less than i was last year this time!!! Summer is always a better time for me to "exercise and eat right". I REALLY wish I could loose weight as fast as everyone else on this site...but I will take a little bit at a time....even one pound down a week is better than one pound UP per week! Maybe after the school yr settles in, I can get back to my treadmill??? this school is brand new for me and that's always the hardest classroom to set up (a new one!) .... THANK GOD FOR MY NEW JOB!!!! :confused:

Italian Restuarant!! SUCCESS!!!

last night my family and I went out to an Italian restuarant for a celebration. it was a last minute invitation, so i kinda' panicked w/the invite.... but I did very well!! I ordered shrimp & brocolli and STILL stayed within my calorie allotment for the day! no wine, no appitizers, no dessert!!!! I also confirmed that I can NOT eat bread! this was my 2nd attempt at eatting just a small slice of the bread that arrives in a basket with your water, etc.... no go! wouldnt go down! got stuck! :crying:had to sip water and hope nobody noticed my "problem"! (they didnt)

"Super Size Me!" by Morgan Spurlock

While on the Treadmill...I watched the Super Size Me! today (Im really into these documentaries here lately!) anyway- it was really something! Yuck! at one point I had to turn away b/c I felt like I was going to puke!!!! I dont like McDs anyway! good thing! :tt2:

Ear Ache....

my ear hurts and i keep sneezing/blowing .... I'm going to the doc in about an hour...funny thing is, this is the Doc that did my pre-op work, so I'm actually looking forward to going so that I can jump on his scale when no one is looking!! :thumbup: I just think that's so funny---->> I'm anticipating the scale more than medicine for my hurting ear! :thumbup:

new workout...

Today i wanted to do Tae Bo....my trusty w/o from 10+ years ago. Tae Bo was always good to jump-start my summer regiment...I popped the VHS in (yes, I still have dinosours!!) :laugh: ... but it wouldnt work...it played VERY dark w/no sound....:cool: Sooooo....until i can buy it on DVD, I switched to Turbo Jam (beginner/30 mins)... Ugh! so much coordination and "attention" needed! :tongue_smilie:This is why i like my "mindless" treadmill better!! ...but non-the-less, I know i need to bump-up my w/o, so here I go!!! :w00t:

Read! Read! Read the labels!!

I was running low on my protein powder mix...so I purchased another jug...54 grams of protein. In hindsight, that should have been my 1st clue!!!... but it was Chocolate Malt, so I got it! well, this morning I went to fix it and it called for 4 scoops!! 4? OMJ! the other mixes only call for 1 scoop! also, it only had 7 servings per jug! well no wonder ---->> at 4 scoops each serving! but to top it off, it was 570 colories!!! Oh no! so I cut the serving in 1/2 to 2 scoops and didnt add any fruit, mixed it w/water and crushed ice, etc.... - It was very tasty but it mixed up so "fluffy" that I couldnt even finish it anyway!! so.... back down to one scoop next time and I'm not buying this one again!!! lesson learned!!!

Just wanted to share this w/any “newbies” (like me) or anyone else interested …. Today I took my food journal w/me to my Doctor’s appt. It was a life saver when I had to visit the Nutritionist!!!! I was able to show her a typical day instead of trying to recall it from memory!!! I write everything in my journals- type of food, amount, time, brand name (they always ask the brand!)…it’s even got columns for calorie amount, protein amount, etc… and of course totals for the day. It has a space for “notes” which is good and it has a space for exercise-type-intensity-length… blah, blah, blah… it is very small (about 5”) so I just keep it in my purse always! milk is NOT my friend!!!

oh my goodness! Milk is NOT my friend! i added a few ounces to my cream soup (which i'm not really allowed to have - the soup that is) and about 4 hours later, I was doubled over in pain!! :bored: gas cramps!!! (sorry for the TMI!!!)
