I was banded yesterday. One night in the hospital and home today. Things just couldn't have gone better. The hospital staff was great. I'm walking and snoozing and drinking and doing all the things I am supposed to do.
This IS the first day of the rest of my life - here I go!
The dietician at my doctor's office advised me of a product that I ordered and just got in. It is "Nectar" from mybariatricpantry.com. Has anyone heard of it or tried it? It should be great for the days after my surgery tomorrow. It has 23g of protein in one serving. You can mix with water or milk and all sorts of flavors . . . I like it.
So I'm finishing laundry and making sure things at home are done before I head in tomorrow. I'll post to you all when I can .. .Thanks for all the support!
I'm scheduled for Thursday . .. keep me in your prayers everyone! I'm excited .. . scared .. .most of all READY.
I have appreciated this site so much. I feel much more prepared than I would have been had I not read so many of your stories. Thanks to all who share.
Hi Everyone . .. I'm looking for some recipes or suggestions to help make the broth more tasty. I am on day 2 of liquid pre-op diet. Someone had posted something about hot and sour soup and basil broth . ..suggestions anyone? THANKS!!!
The paperwork from my dr. says exactly this, "food should not need chewing. Chew food 10-20 times", huh? If the food is pureed to the point that it does not need to be chewed, is it still necessary to chew it? Sorry . .. I'm a newbie . . . scheduled for banding next month. Thanks for any input available.
Advice anyone? I am pre-surgery and using Sugar Free Carnation Instant Breakfast as the (dr. recommended - actually mandated) protein drink. I am doing well with it - except that it gasses me up. I work in an office and it's REALLY embarrassing - suggestions anyone??
I am experimenting to find "eatable" mushie foods for when I have surgery next month. I just tried Gerber baby food (turkey in gravy) -- one bite and it was just awful. Has anyone tried any baby foods that were tasty and worked for you after surgery?
