Well things are looking better. I am still feeling a little stresses over the red spot. It is not sore anymore, but every so ofter it burns a little. Still on the Meds.:sick one week from tororrow I go to Egypt YAhhhhhhhhhhh:clap2:
It has been two weeks today since I was banded. And I must say it has not been that bad. Th gas in the beginning just about killed me. It was the worst the first two nights. The infection seems to be doing well, so all is good. I must say that I can't believe that I actually got the band !
Holy cow, I will never be 250lbs again ! I guess it will feel a little more real for me when my weight starts going down. I am excited !
It was a hard decision for me to decide to go a head with the lap band.
I second guesses my self a million times. All the what if's. I have been on this site off and on for about two years, but it was in August I thought that I really needed to do something to make me healither. A better me
That day a had my phone consult I booked the surgery in two weeks and was very content with my decision. It was the night before that I thought oh my god it is tomorrow. I will board the plane , go right the clinic and be banded. My friend who came with me later told me she wondered it I would get there and then change my mind. I was A little nervious once a walked into the clinic, but everyone was wonderful. The clinic is beautiful.
I was able to meet the doctors befor the surgery and discuss what was going to happen. They answered all my guestions and concerns. I did not feel rushed in any way, it felt like they were waiting for me in a very relaxed manner (I must admit that this site has provided me with most of the information I needed, as well as a great amount of support. )
I thought it was nice that the hospital gown was a large size. This was very respectful for all there clients.
I had a big laugh as I walked into the Or and saw these large pads on the table. The good looking doctor who was in training with the ansatetic doctor laughted and said pee paper, I know , I said, I have them for my dog. They all laughted. I got up on the table , they hooked up the Iv, The good looking Res doctor said if you are scared I will hold your hand. I was not going to pass that up. As the mask came over my face , I said lets get my new life started,;on the road to one ass, and of to sleep I went. :clap2:
I love my band, and can't say enough good things about it. So far I have lost 85 lbs. I have been slow to lose, may fault as I wiuld eat more ice cream then I should and add to much fat to things. I did get a meeting at TLBC with the nutritionist who gave me a great diet of things I should have and how much and things I should avoid. Since then I have lost 21lbs , and that was in April. I and now doing more exercies, and things are going good. When I do have stress, I get tight really tight.. oh well, what can you do:rolleyes2:
well , three days ago I started to get an infection in the port site. The incision itself was not red, but about 2 inches below, and boy was it sore. I went to energ and they gave me novo - lexin. I doubled up on the first amount and the next day call TLBC. They told me that I was doing the right thing, and if it did not get better to fly down to see them. I think it is getting better . It is not nearly as sore and the redness is going away. It still hurts a little. I have my Dr. apt on Tuesday, so I will see how things are then. As to date I have lost 15lbs. :clap2: I have two weeks befor I go to Egypt, I hope that I can lost 5lbs by then. I am hopeing to hit the gym by Tuesday. I never took a befor picture, so I think I will do that later today.
