anyone had to have their fill in a hospital?

I am so frustrated & confused! I was banded 3/18/2010. Including a 10 day liquid diet I lost 30# very quickly. I've been at this current weight for about a month. I called my dr. office to schedule my 1st fill. When I went Thurs. I was mentally prepared for it & ready to have restriction & not be able to eat so much. The dr. said that he does his fills in a hospital with x-rays. I can't go for 2 weeks because I'm a teacher. School's almost out & we can't take time off. :cursing:I've been reading for 2 months on this site about how everyone seems to get theirs done in the dr.'s office? I'm upset about 1. waiting 2. if my ins will cover it.

Have U tried the 5 Day Pouch Test by Kaye Bailey?

Banded on 3/18/2010. 1st fill for a total of 5cc in my 14cc band. Don't really have any kind of restriction, can eat bread. I've lost the same 3 pounds, back & forth for about 3 weeks. I am a right brained artist who has never followed any rule unless maybe I saw a police car behind me, then I'd slow down!! So, being banded for not too long, I've just been eating what ever I wanted thinking that because I didn't eat that much that I'd magically lose weight. :blush:So I started the 5 Day Pouch Test. Day 1 yesterday, all liquids. AT 6:00 PM I was ready to eat the whole world! Stayed strong & didn't eat. This morning I was down 3, for a new total of 45 pounds.:thumbup:It's almost 6:00 & I'm hungry & going to make tomato soup. The weird thing is that it is easier for me to not eat at all than to stop myself from overeating with the band. Do you ever feel that way????

Day 6 Peo-Op Encouraging Words for others

This is my 6th great day!! I was nervous about being able to do it, especially after reading about some people experiencing problems and reading about them crying with hunger. It has been , dare I say not bad & jinx myself?!? lol! I teach 2nd grade & was nervous about having to "go" all the time. I had a talk with my students about me drinking a lot of water & having to be out of the room a couple of times. As a rule elementary teachers train their bladder to go: 1. right before the 1st bell 2. at their PE time 3. at lunch & 4. After the last bell. If you're out of the room & something happens....liability issues not to mention your principal and parents bringing the wrath of God because John stabbed Sally with a pencil while you were ...out of the room..they don't care if you have to tinkle or not!!! Anyway that has been fine...no kids on the floor tussling when I come back. I thought I'd list what I'm drinking & when because it has been SO EASY. I had bee at 250# for about 15 years. Then about 280-290 for the last couple of years. Knowing that I was going to get banded I've not even cared one little bit about what I had been eating, or how much. I went in to get weighed on the 5th & I as 311.5# I thought I was going to faint! I started the liquid diet this past Monday. I've lost weight every day, naturally since I'm not eating!! This morning I was down 12#. But the morst important thing is that 90% of the time I have not been hungry, I have had no problems & I have been happy. Here's what I've been doing. PS Not sure if it's 100% right or "legal" but here it is: 5:30 - 6:30am 2 huge cups of coffee with a little skim milk (this is normal for me) 9:30 a bottle of water with Slim Shots appetite suppressent powder I got from Wal-Mart. 12:00 1 box prepared of sf Jello 1 container of Muscle Milk 110 calories, 35% protein..absolutely delicious 3:15 1 can of a chocolate protein 110 cal. 35% protein 6:00ish another box of prepared jello & a Muscle Milk, then a little while later a couple of sugar free fudgiscles I hope this may help some of you getting ready to go pre-op. I can't do broths ugh & I of course love chocolate. Good luck to all of you getting ready to begin this!

Smothie King Question

Hello all! I so appreciate this website. I have learned so much. I''m wondering about Smoothie King. Today is my 3rd day on the pre-op diet. The 1st 2 days using the Unjury supplement were Ok. The 1st day I used the unflavored powder in a strawberry Fuze slenderize strawberry. It smelled like baby formula. I held may breat, drank it fast & popped a piece of sugar free gum. 2nd day I tried my strawberry Unjury powder sample in the strawberry Fuze slenderize. It was not as bad but I still held my breath. For supper I had a chocolate Muscle Milk. AWESOME!!! I love it. Today I got on the Smoothie King website. Everything had too much sugar except the Gladiator. It had 45% of protein & 1% sugar. So after a long day of teaching 2nd graders I zipped over there all giddy & happy. When I got up to the window the girl said that the different syrups had different levels of sugar. The banana had 13 or 18 grams of sugar, OMG Right now I can't remember which it was. Anyway, that's probably off limits right??? However, I did get one & if was so yummy & I have energy right now....as opposed to dozing off at 7:00 last night!! Is that too much sugar for when I get the band. I don't want to experience the dumping syndrome!!!
