First Fill and excited

At 2:30 today I had my first fill and am so excited. My weight loss since my fill has been slow - but you know they say slow and steady wins the race. The fill itself was pretty uneventfull and went very quickly with just a pinch of pain. I am still tracking my food carefully and plan on keeping it up. I've lost a total of 9 lbs since surgery and am going to keep a positive attitude and do the best I can every day without discouragement. Gonna pick up the pace on getting moving. Thanks for all your support guys.     1st visit with Dr - 260 lbs Shot up to 275 in between Day of surgery 258 Day of first fill 249

Thinking positively - cant wait to be filled

Thank goodness for this site and all the info I get. I have not lost much weight since being banded about a month ago but I am not discouraged. I followed Doctors orders exactly and have been on about 1000 calories a day. For the last week I have been on Atkins trying to shake things up in my body. I just don't loose weight easily and now that I'm over 50 it's nearly impossible. I have been walking about a mile a day, surely not enough exercise. Next week is my first fill and I am so excited. I know this is what I need to reduce my intake and am very optomistic that I will begin to see progress. I feel completely healed and ready for the next step.

5/7 11 days since banding

I'm really starting to feel like myself now, with the exception of the pain I have on my left side after I "eat" something that goes right up my side into my neck. I haven't been having the 6 full liquid meals that I am supposed to be having instead I am having more like 3. Today I am going to try to get all 6 in. So far I have had a greek yogurt and instant breakfast light. For some reason I thought the weight would be falling off, but it isn't. I have lost about 6 lbs since my surgery and I think in part it is due to the fact that I haven't been getting all my protein in. I have gone to the boardwalk to walk only 2 times this week. I am going to see if DH wants to go after he gets home from work. I miss having him home all day with me. I'll be heading back to work next Monday after my Dr appointment and clearance to return to work. Monday also brings my to my mushy stage. I am a little apprehensive about that because I will start to eat real food and am afraid that I will again make poor choices. I am going to try to commit to logging all my food, hopefully here. One of the reasons for this is not only to make myself accountable for my actions, but to help others on their journeys. Have a nice day to all.

Banded

All done. I was banded on Monday and am just beginning to feel good enough to post. Thank God for my unbeleiveable husband who has been taking really good care of me. Thanks to all who wished me well. I'll post again soon.

Got a date for surgery

Well I was given my surgery date and it is - drum roll please - April 26th. I have had a difficult month with a tragic death in my family and today my first easter without my mom who passed the end of September. I am trying to take each day as it comes. So many things in my life are so good, yet its hard to overlook the really crappy things, and I mean really crappy things that happened in the last year. I makes me wonder whats next. I am, on the other hand, positive with my outlook on my upcoming surgery. My husband is less than thrilled, he's just worried about me making it through surgery because the woman he was with before me died on the operating table. I am waiting to have the thought that I don't need the surgery and can do it on my own, but that hasn't hit me yet. Perhaps I have actually accepted the fact that I could use the help of the band. Please cross your fingers for me. Thanks.

Happy Valentines Day

Hello:wub:   Happy Valentines day to all.   I was wondering if anyone has used the Doc I am going to use. He is located in Syosset, NY and his name is Dr Geiss. He has an amazing rep, but was hoping for some personal experiences about his staff etc.   Thanks, LIL

Almost done with pre op testing

Ok, I guess its time to get serious and write it down because it's real. I am morbidly obese and have tried everything and need help. So lap band land get ready I'm on my way. I keep having mixed feelings but I have really decided that this is what I need to do to get my health and my life back. I have managed to gain 15 more pounds since my first post. Oh, I will definately get approved by my insurance company. Good job. I have done all my testing except for cardio stress and echo, which are both scheduled for March 8th. I'm hoping to be approved soon after that. My wonderful loving husband is a little scared about me having surgery but I want to spend a lot more time with him so this is the way to go. I will try to post often. Again thanks to all for sharing your experiences. LIL

first post

Thank you all for all your honest sharing. I have not yet been banded, but have had my initial consult with the surgeon. I want to diet now but don't know if that is smart to do at this point since I have not yet gotten approval from the insurance company. I am at about 260 now and can get down to about 230 but never below. At 5'4 inches will that be a number that is high enough to get banded. Any input about this would be appreciated. Thank you.
