I had my first fill this past Saturday. I don't seem to feel restriction like I thought i would. I have an appetite, and I eat anything I want...not what I expected. Is this normal? I am also feeling the port when I bend over, again is this normal? I am back at the gym and feel good, but when I try yoga, I think I feel the port. Can someone please tell me how they felt after the first fill? I was filled to 3cc. I really don't want to go in for a second fill already. Happy Thanksgiving!!
On Saturday Nov. 15th, I had my first fill. I must admit I was hoping he (Doctor) wouldn't give me an adjustment because I have been losing at least a pound a week, since surgery Oct 13th I have lost 10 pounds. I did get an adjustment and I have to say it didn't hurt at all, but it was a little uncomfortable because he had the needle in (again it didn't hurt at all) and was trying to locate the area for the fill. The entire appointment was about 15 minutes. I had 2 days of liquid and 1 day soft food and then back to solids. I am at 3cc filled, but I don't feel the resistance I thought I would. I will give it a month and as long as I am losing weight I will be ok, but if I start gaining I will go in for another adjustment. I was sore for a couple of days, but now I feel great. I wish all my band brothers and sisters good luck!
Today is week 3 post op and I am feeling much better. I am back at the gym but only on the treadmill and walking very slowly. I called and spoke to a nurse yesterday (impossible to get someone to talk to you or even return any of my calls!) I wanted to know if I should still be feeling uncomfortable. I still feel aching in my port area, not pain but ache feeling. I was told that I would have this feeling for another 2 weeks. Does anyone else still feel like they need to support their port area when walking or doing anything other than sitting. I do not work so I feel like I have taken it easy, and still I feel like I am not 100%. Any feedback would be appreciated :smile2:
Hello new friends and supporters!! Thanks for the comments, I appreciate all the information I can get. I feel better today, my neck and back still hurt and my incision is sore, but not too bad. I had my first shower since surgery today, It felt great to wash my hair, though it was a quick shower because I started to feel a little light headed. I sleep on my belly and on my side, so sleeping on my back all night is not very comfy, but I am not complaining. I don't feel like I was very prepared for after surgery aches and pains, I put some much time preparing for an all liquid diet that I didn't think much of the recovering part, my mistake. I have a very supportive husband and he has made all the difference. I don't have small children to cook for and my husband is fixing his own meals so that is something I don't have to deal with. I am still not too hungry and am happy with the broth, jello and water... I will have to let you know if I feel the same way my second week into the liquid diet. Thanks again for the suggestions and comments, it makes it a much easier process when you have people who understand what I am going through. Thank you and good luck to all of you!!
I had my surgery on Oct. 13th. I went home tired, sore and I had a hard time breathing. I felt horrible yesterday with a low grade fever and my breathing was shallow. I feel much better today! I am breathing better and my incision is sore but not too bad. My neck and back are killing my, I think it is gas pain. I am walking a little but not too much, I don't want to push it. I haven't had any protein, didn't know I was suppose to. I have been drinking water and sugar free jello and chicken broth. I am not hungry but I am eating to keep my strength up. I wish everyone luck on this journey and I hope that we can help each other succeed!! Good Luck
