First fill b4 turkey day?? Help!!!!!!!

Ok so here I am 4 weeks out and in 2 weeks will get my first fill....THE DAY BEFORE THANKSGIVING:huh2: I had seen in many blogs that most bansters had to be liquids for a day....then mushies for a few days, then return to regular food. IS THIS TRUE????   I got on the horn to call my dr'c office to change my appointment, because there was NO WAY IN HELL I was gonna be sippin' on a protein shake on Thanksgiving, regarless if its turkey flavor or not (ewww....i know)   SOOOO my doc's office said that that was a big misconception with fills.....and NO i did not have to be on liquids the first day after a fill......WHAT????? thats all i have been hearing on here and now they said NO I dont???   I;m just looking for a few opinions of AFTER THE FIRST FILL......I certainly dont wanna be drinking my turkey in a few weeks!! HELP!!!

Too much cheese????

ok so here i am 3 months post-op, lost 35+ pounds and feeling pretty good. maybe tooo good.....so last week i used a straw for 2 days at work and suffered gas pains for awhile...got "stuck" and "slimed" (2 words that i never knew what they meant till now)...and here I was chugging along after 10 weeks and feeling fab, and BAM felt like crap:sad:   Now yesterday I had pain around my port ALL DAY...so much to the point I felt like I had just had surgery and had all that post-op swelling. So I had to get my mind going and think of what I had been eating (and to be very honest, I have been awesome with my eating since surgery)...but I was able to eat and drink so I didnt think anything could be terribly wrong....   So i realized that I may have had TOO MUCH CHEESE in the last few days....could I have eaten too much to cause lots of gas?? Does cheese cause gas? :cursing:   Really learning something new everyday with this band.....

Back to work after surgery and anxiety ridden... :(

:glare:Ok so here I am almost 3 weeks out of surgery, and while I have lost 15 lbs, I still havent returned to work yet. I am a neuro-trauma ICU nurse and I work 12 hour shifts on a very busy floor in Philly. Sometimes my patient load can be very heavy....2 patients weighing 250+ pounds each at times is a little stressful on the body!!!   My situation is this.....I was to return to work today and I got soooo anxiety-filled that something was going to happen to my port or my band if I return to work not feeling 100%. I know that feeling of something foreign in my body will probably not go away for a long time (if ever!!), but I just nervous that I am going to do some damage to myself while in this fragile state of healing.   I currently have a 25 pound 9 month old that I'm not supposed to be carrying around (yeah like that;s a possibility!!) so now I'm wondering if work is just gonna be too much right now. I do have a great group of co-workers that are extremly helpful and I am prepared to explain to them that I NEED HELP, BUT AT THIS TIME IN MY LIFE, I CAN;T BE A HELPER   So I'm looking to see if there is anyone out there that had any problems going back to work after surgery, and if there is a possibility that anything could cause harm to the band???   Or if there are any nurses out there who may have been in this situation....how didi u deal with it??   Thanks for all the support in advance!! Go weight loss!!

Straws are a no-no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok so i had my surgery almost 3 months ago and happy to say that i am down 35 lbs!!!! i have been sooo motivated and eating all the right things and, although there is always temptation, i have told myself time and time angain that this is my new life, and a new way of looking at food....   on that note, i had my first epispde of GETTING STUCK.....WOW thought i was having a heart attack...ate a crab ragoon and 10 mins later had massive "chest pain" (as i like to call it) and really felt like i was gonna die  I have NEVER felt that way b4 ...even while in labor AND the delivery of 3 kiddies over 9 lbs (not all at the same time...) WORST pain of my life...thank god it was over in 40 mins....   well, last nite i had TERRIBLE pains which felt like post-op gas/swelling we all know too much about....after about 8 hours of dealing with this, I realized it was gas pains and that I had been drinking from a straw for the last few days...(I'm in loooove with unsweetened ice tea from WaWa or Dunkin donuts) Then I remembered NO STRAWS.   WOW.,....never thought a straw could do soooo much damage.   moral of the story....STAY AWAY FROM STRAWS and REALIZE EVERY OUNCE OF FOOD THAT GOES INTO YOUR BODY......lesson learned:thumbup:
