Back on the "BAND WAGON"

:frown:well I am finally feeling nourished after the trip to Alaska where on the cruise I could not seem to eat properly! A slight unfill .04 cc's did the trick. NOW to get back on the Band Wagon and lose the next 10 lbs! I want to lose 30 more, but will get there one day at a time. I am hitting the gym tomorrow and starting my daily walks again, you can sure get off track when going on Vacation, I loved the cruise, but got more lbs to lose! Back from Alaska and ready to get down to business! Losing weight is an everyday JOB!

I do love to travel and ALASKA was the best yet!   We cruised on the Norwegian Pearl to Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan, then to Victoria BC and then to Seattle, WA for a couple of days.   Discovered I have one good day to eat and then it is followed by a bad day. The motion of the ship did not help either even tho it was ever so gentle, I think it affected my digestion with this band. I ate good, just not like the rest of my group I was with. I HAVE to have the time to eat slowly and we were always going to Bingo or to something NEXT! I did get a couple of nice peices of art at the Art Auctions and drank the free Champagne!   I was always full and satisfied, I had carried onboard my protein shakes and made sure to have one evey day. I had LOTS of energy and it is a good thing, because the Pearl is a very Big ship and we must have walked two to three miles every day! My legs were sore! It was TOO COLD on this cruise to even think about the pool or the Hot tubs even tho people were in them! I could never have let go of the towel or robe to get in! The wind had a chill in it!   The scenery and the rich history of Alaska was so interesting and the views of the Mountains, glaciers and the different way of life was so facinating. I wish the trip was longer. Now it is back to work for me! Both on the job, the gym and the diet. I did not gain any weight but then I did not lose either, it seems to be this way when I cruise. Not sure of how they prepare the foods, but tried to eat lots of fish and seafoods this time and salads! The fruit was good but no strawberries except once.   I bought some really good blueberries in Pikes Market Place in Seattle, WA I love that place, the prettiest flowers. Drank lots of coffee and I know I shouldn't (black tho no additives) and there is a Starbucks on every corner. LOL Had a donut at Top Pot Yummy and found the Five Points Cafe in Seattle to be the best little restaurant and bar open 24/7 since 1929! Check it out if you ever go to Seattle. Went up in the Space Needle! Walked a LOT in Seattle! Took the Double Decker a couple of times and the Monorail once. Had a wonderful break. Missed you all and my Facebook friends too. Glad to be home.

JAN. 18TH, 2010 TO MEET WITH MY DOCTOR, THE HOSPITAL ASSISTANT DIRECTOR AND THE ALERGAN REPRESENTIVE (MAKER OF THE LAPBAND)!!! THEY ARE ASKING ME TO BE AT THIS MEETING. THEY HAVE INDICATED THAT I CAN HELP MY DR. BY DOING SOME LOCAL TALK SHOWS WITH HIM. THEY ARE USING MY BEFORE AND DURING PHOTOS IN THE PRESENTATIONS AND SEMINARS NOW. I REALLY FEEL LIKE I HAVE GOT TO GET ON THE BALL AND GET TO LOSING THIS WEIGHT AND FAST! DON'T YOU LOOK TEN POUNDS HEAVIER WHEN YOU ARE ON TV? HAS ANYONE ELSE EVER DONE THIS? I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR BACK FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE.:ohmy::cursing:

Another Gastric Bypass Friend has gained back 15 lbs!!!

I have two close friends who both had the Bypass surgery around 6-7 years ago. This was the same time I WAS considering it too.   They lost very quickly and stayed down for around two to three years. Both of them had vitamin defeciencies and health problems. I KNEW I did not want that! I watched one of them very closely, she and I are like sisters although we live about 130 miles apart.   She and I now wear the same size clothes! She is afraid that I will out lose her now cause she is gaining! Why? I did hear from someone or read it somewhere, that they will gain around 15 or so lbs back?!   She still looks awesome I might add! I still have around 20 something lbs I want to lose and hope to do it within this coming year. Started writing my foods down again daily. And I am getting started back with my exercise routine too so I am working hard for that last 20! Then I can get my Tummy Tuck and Boob Job!!!! Not too bad right now, so my hubby is balking on those extra surgerys but I will win this battle!!LOL This is for ME!!!!!!   Of course I will accept the Lord's Guidance in all these matters and we will see.   "The Lord says, "I will make you wise and show you where to go. I will guide you and watch over you." Psalm 32:8 NCV   God, I look to you for direction and counsel as I make important decisions in my life. Give me a listening ear to hear your voice and a heart that is quick to obey. Amen.   Hope you all are staying the course, keeping a journal and encouraging others along the way. :bored:

And Monday Morning is coming soon! The start of a new week!

Oh Well Monday Monday come on down. Sunday was a good and relaxing day for me today.   I weighed yesterday morning and I was down a total of 6 lbs for the week, then back up a lb this morning. So I'll be happy with a 5 lb loss at this stage in the game.   Eight months have passed and I am down 82 lbs so far so good. Next week I will get focused and back on the exercise equipment at the gym.   Going to Alaska on a cruise in two weeks, I can hardly wait! This is the one I have wanted for several years. It is 38 degrees at night! Burrrr! 50's in the daytime and rain some days forcast! No worries I have my FrogTogs and UnderArmour and I am READY TO GO! Losing this weight could not have come at a better time for me! I am ready to take on the World and see a good deal of it!   I tried on some 10s and 12s and can fit them pretty good, that is the size I feel I will end up with. I can be happy there, since I was in 24W's and some 26 W's. I get a fill and measured on the 6th of May! I have a LOT of restriction, so I am debating the fill. We'll see. Ready for some happy times in my life and NO more Deaths and saddness. Have a good week all!:thumbup:
 

Addicted to LapBandTalk??????

Could it be??? Am I addicted to this site??? :sad:Well it certainly seems so! I have to have my daily fix of your smiles at the satisfaction of your changes in your body and the new joy that this walk with the band is taking you. I click on, check for any messages from you, check my blog. Then go straight to see the new pics that have been added. This is a life saving sight that lifts my spirits every day. I admitted it~~~I am addicted to this site!!! I need to have my friends on here to support my efforts and keep me motivated. (Also, A lot of prayer!) I don't know who started this site, but I thank God they did, keep the good blogs coming and the photos too. Have a blessed day.:drool:

A little at the Time~Walkin the Walk just not with the SNAKES

:frown:Hey a loss is a loss! Down 1.3 lbs this morning! Yeah! When you have taken off over 80 bs, the losses slow down some, well lets face it, I have lost a great percentage of my excess body fat, so you have to realize things will slow down, that is why on EVERY DIET there is the last 20 lbs or so is soooooo harrrrrd to lose!:mad: Working hard for the next 10 lbs, hope for it in two months! That is the plan anyway. Was going to walk today, but it is 100 degrees and the lake I walk around is exactly 1 mile and perfectly round, just beautiful, but the Newspaper reported Snakes :mad2:(Moccosins) a lot of them crawling there, so me and snakes don't mix, here I come treadmill. Still Walkin the LapBand Walk! Here's to us Bandsters.:tt1:

A good dose of the Movies Helps!

:rolleyes2:Well the movies with a friend was wonderful, Saw INCEPTION! I am still reeling from the ending, but it is the hottest movie out right now, so I will just not tell you the ending. Getting out and feeling normal really helps! Yes I had some popcorn, sure can not hold what I use to hold back in the day. It always smells so much better and taste better than the popcorn you get at home! My friend and I shared a box. I worked on a Commercial Real Estate Deal that I have going today and I hope it goes through as it will be a NICE commission! Let me tell you a good dose of the Movies will take you out of reality and make you feel much better if you are down in the dumps.!:bye:

A fresh baked Brownie had my name written all over it!

:smile2:Ok I had been such a good girl all week! Didn't I deserve that fresh baked brownie? I walked in to a friends house to visit, and she offered the brownie! No, I said! I'll just take water~I am thirsty. Thinking that if I sipped on the water I would get full and not desire that delicious smelling brownie coming from her kitchen. Then she tells me that she put fresh walnuts in them, OMG my mouth is watering! But all week I had gone on High protein and I was to kill my desire for Sweets by doing that!!!! Darn Friends that don't want you to succeed. They want us to be FAT! They are jealous, but they don't control us ~or do they? Ok the night moves on, and here it come, "Why don't you take a couple of these Brownies home to your husband? I am sure he would love some sweets, you probably don't bake much anymore!" The nerve of some people, truth is, I took the brownies and ate one on the way home!!!!! It was Sooooo good, and later, I was soooooo mad with myself, but now I know what to do, say NO NO NO Thanks! This is a real day to day learning process and a curve ball is coming you way and from almost every angle, so get ready and fight back! That is what I am going to do if ever in that situation again, but I got up the next day, A new Day, shook myself off and ate small portions of everything, hope that by tomorrow I will still have maintained my 4 lb loss this week, only 22 to go to 100 lbs, by July 29th, 2010 My Bandiversary!:wink2:

A decision to Trust!

:smile:Learning to swim in daunting. You'll probably never forget how it felt to squint across the pool before filling your lungs with that last deep breath. Three strokes later, your hesitant paddling ended in frantic sputtering when water started closing over your head. At the same moment, strong arms caught you from beneath and lifted you back up to the surface. ( I had this happen to me at age 12 in our large round town lake)   A heart of trust is one of life's sweet but hard-won gifts. The discovery that God is always there, ready to lift you up when you start to sink, replaces fear with courage and timidity with boldness. Along with that courage and boldness comes the strength to face whatever life throws at you~even when it requires a long scary swim to the other side.   We can equate this long scary swim to the other side, to our decision to have the LAP-BAND®®® as well. We are uncertain, hopeful, scared and wanting. We have to get decisive, use the courage that we can drum up from within and be bold and go forward with our decision, trusting that we are doing the RIGHT thing for us! I know that I could not do a thing or make a decision without first trusting God to guide me. When I decided to do this LAP-BAND®®® thing, I was scared, unsure of how it would affect my life, how it would change me and my family, could I do it? It became a decision I had to Trust! Some days, I am still scared. I will try to eat something and I question myself, can I eat this? Will it get stuck? And I can get on edge about the band. Other days there is no question. I am starting to feel Normal with the band, not apprehensive at all, about getting together with friends attending functions such as weddings, showers, and parties without thinking everyone is watching me eat. I feel like one of the bunch again! I thank God everyday for my decision.:tt2:   In you O Lord, I put my trust; Let me never be ashamed; Deliver me in Your righteousness. Psalm 31:1 NKIV   Dear God, I am a child in your arms. Thank you for holding me in your loving embrace. I depend on your provision and protection. Amen

A better day~A better Way!

:w00t: Well today was a better day! Thank God I have the LapBand! I got up in a determined mood to get back on track and I did! Sundays are always really hard for me because after Church I have to take my mother out to Lunch. She is a resident in a really nice Assisted Living Facility but I like to be with her on Sundays and take her out for something special.   It was good today, I had control of my life today! I made good food choice decisions and feel like I am on track again, NO MORE BIG BROWNIES, like last Friday! I feel a good restriction now and believe I am at the Sweet Spot! I am glad that my skin is not wrinkled bad, and the elasticity is good! I must resume my Gym Classes next week too, gotten off there due to the added work load of taking care of elderly parents and getting them cared for! It will all even out again soon, I just know it. Every Day is different, every day a bit better with the LapBand~the Better Way!:biggrin:

76 1/2 lbs down and the scales are dropping! This is FUN!

:tt1: Boy am I loving my band NOW! I am getting into size 12's and I CAN HARDLY believe it myself!! This is FUN! Losing weight has NEVER Been FUN before but now, I just love getting on the scales. I don't even care if it shows a tiny l lb gain, cause I KNOW that by sticking to my program, it will be gone by the end of the week and taking another lb with it! FUN! I love shopping for NEW CLOTHES too! And I am smaller now than I have been in a very long time. I wore a size 14 Wedding Gown from JC Penny's in 1979. I will be wearing a size 10 to my daughters wedding in OCT. if I stay on track with my weight loss! Now how FUN is that????????? If you are new to LB or just thinkin about it! 20 Days~Standing Still on the Scales~But Standing Strong!

:thumbup: DON'T KNOW WHY! DON'T CARE!   :cool: IT WILL ALL WORK OUT, CAUSE I KNOW THAT MY BODY IS HOLDING ON TO WHAT IT HAS, I WAS SICK FOR OVER TWO WEEKS WITH THE FLU! DID NOT EAT ENOUGH, NOT EAT RIGHT, NOT EXERCISE AT ALL. SPENT TOO MUCH TIME ON THE COUCH AND NOT AT THE GYM.   NOW THAT I AM WELL, WELL HERE I GO AGAIN AND SO DO THE POUNDS! BE GONE YOU DRASTIT POUNDS! BE GONE WITH YOURSELF~I HAVE GOALS SET AND GOALS TO MEET~ AND I WILL MEET THEM!   I KNOW IN MY HEART THAT NOTHING IS WRONG, ALL IS RIGHT IN MY WORLD RIGHT NOW, JUST A LITTLE STRESS, NOTHING GOD CAN'T TAKE CARE OF! HE IS THERE FOR ME EVERY DAY~SO I LEAN ON HIS UNDERSTANDING OF ALL THIS.   FOLLOW ME ON MY NEW BLOG FRIENDS, AND START YOUR OWN TOO! "I can't find anything to wear"~~~I can't believe I DON'T say this anymore!!!!!!!

:smile:Well it use to be a fiasco in the mornings as I prepared to go to work, just to find something in my closet that would fit!!!:sad:     Well those days are over, down 91 lbs this morning, and facing my one year bandiversary on the 29th of this month! I feel great and I have not been frustrated at all in finding something that fits me to wear to work!!! I just realized how awesome that is!!!!   Now I just have to decide WHAT it is that I want to wear to work! I actually like wearing makeup again, because I don't sweat it off! I am learning new makeup techniques and I have a new Hairdo too! I actually straightened my hair which is naturally curly the other day with a curling iron and I LIKED it. Before I lost weight I don't think I CARED very much. Now I DO!!!! A lot of people have told me I look younger and I think I do too!   Being smaller makes me happy!   I have to tell you ladies, nothing makes me madder though than to hear a remark like I did yesterday! There was a big girl, at a convention center who was wearing clothing not flattering to her larger figure, she did look Fat and not at all attractive. Now, as a big girl, I KNEW my limitations and always dressed appropriately. One man said, "Now there is at least 350 lbs on hoof" Comparing a woman to a cow is not respectful at all, and a tiny girl was laughing with him at this woman. To tell you the truth, it broke my heart! I feel so much compassion for all of us big people, we are NOT treated fairly in the workplace or any other place for that matter, and most big people I know have more class, more heart, more of everything than some of the skinny people I know. I pray that God gives me a compassion and a role to play to others to witness the results of the LAP-BAND® to others who will listen, I believe with all my heart that the timing of the funds I recieved to have my LAP-BAND®, were in Gods hands, and I will continue to do my best to make this work in my life and help all others I come into contact with do the same. We have to learn as a society to love all people the same, no matter the situations we have in life. Have a great day all!
 

.1 CC is all I Got~Could it be I am at my SWEET SPOT???

:confused:well that is it! I have hit the spot with my LapBand that I am not needing any fills for awhile. I have good restriction and even tho I am still losing weight, I can eat a good amount of food and fluids to be satisfied! Now I have to relax and let the band help me, and make food choices that are good and low carb, and continue to exercise! I went in for a fill, weight and measurement appointment yesterday 6 mos and 11 days post band. I am down 71 lbs! Yeahhhhh! I also lost an inch and a half from my waist and inch in the bust, and other inches in the calves and thighs and upper arms. I could only get in .1cc. The Doctor put in .5cc's and had to remove it all but the .1cc, I was refluxing back up in the esphogus! My band is staying tight! That means I am not stretching it out by eating foods that will do that or overeating! I was a little disgusted with myself and disappointed that I had not lost more weight this month, but he said I will not drop as much because the ratio of weight I have to lose now in proportion to my excess body weight is just right, and this will allow my skin to tighten. So I have decided to be happy for now, and content to just continue on the Journey with the Lapband for life. Over a period of five years, you will lose weight on the LapBand if you eat right and exercise. That will be me! I am committed! I went shopping today and bought some BCBG jeans in a size 14 regular! And a top BCBG in a medium! I love to shop now! I don't have to wear the X's anymore or the W's! I am in a whole new department! Again did I say I LOVE IT!!!!!~~~~~~Don't stop short of the program, eat right, not too much, five small meals a day and at least 30 minutes of exercise three times a week for life!!!!!:thumbup:
