I sat on the Couch with TWO other people!!!

:thumbup:Well now. Last year only one other person could sit on the full size couch with me on it too, Comfortably that is! Tonight all my husbands relatives stopped by to see us and I actually scooted over so two people could sit on the couch with me!! 94 lbs does make a difference in the size of the couch. Going to get up early, only 15 days till my daughters wedding! Made about 400 buttermints and dotted them with tiny icing rosebuds and leaves for the wedding. I only ate a couple! They had to be tasted!!!! My granddaughter who is three had way too many! LOL Tomorrow morning I have to finish the hand sewing of the pearls on her dress. She is going to be a beautiful flower girl too. Tomorrow night, going to Destin, Florida with a best friend for a Vince Gill Concert!!! Yayyy! Not my Birthday or hers, just a break for these hard working girls. I have not been to a concert in years. It is at the Beach!! It was nice to fit in with my in-laws who were always so nice to me before to my face, but felt sorry for me being so FAT before, they never told me but I knew it! I hope my husband was proud! He FINALLY told me I look so good to him! This whole year I was fishing for that compliment from him, he matters the most to me, the love and support of my life. He said it two or three times. My head was swelled and my heart too! God Bless you all! Good Night!:smile:

I made the Local Newspaper!

:blushing:Well it finally happened, the Hospital put the article about me in the Local Newspaper! I did not know it was going Local but that the Medical Journal was to have an article about me in it! WELLL~~~a lot of folks started coming to my work to see me, and said that had to be you but the name was wrong under your Photo! They had my name and story correct in the written article, but put the name of a nurse (that I had actually gradutated with) instead of my name, how funny. Hey she needs to lose weight too! It was kinda nice being noticed so much, but I wanted to be smaller when the article came out, oh well! I did give my written permission~and I am so different than that person 7 1/2 months ago was! I will count my blessings. Went to the Gym tonight had quite a workout, felt good to be alive! God Bless and keep you all. My dear friend who passed will be cremated in the morning and we shall give her our last respects. Love and true friendship never die!:sad:

I love my life! Very happy today!

:smile:Life is Good. Look all around you and you have so much to be happy about!   Fall is in the air in Florida. I am 94 lbs or so lighter than I was last year this time. I am so happy today. I have a beautiful family with a beautiful daughter getting married in 12 days! Live is good.   My new dress fits and looks nice on. I don't feel FAT in it or trying to HIDE a part of my body I don't like!!! I love my life now, thanks to the band and the positive changes in my life, I am very happy today~oh wait did I say that Already????

I like being a LOOSER!

No one wants to be a looser! Well I like it! I never thought that loosing would make me a winner! LapBand AP has made me a looser and I am happy about it.   I have started to visualize myself at 80 lbs thinner, now that I am 40 lbs or so down from my old weight! Next year at this time I will be a totally different woman!   Take a photo of yourself, use a black marker, and trim yourself down! This will give you inspiration to get with the program, stay with the program, and get thin.   Take it with you always, when you are tempted, take it out, look at it and walk away from those foods that will stop you from reaching your goals!   I have been asked to start a support group at the local hospital where I had my surgery! I am very excited about being able to help others in their journey to slim with me.   Have a great day Bandsters!:wink::smile2:

I have survived!

:smile:Well I am back, the couple has Wed and I survived it all. It was a fairy tale come true wedding, complete with their own written vows which made us all cry! They are off on a trip to Belgium, and Germany for two weeks Honeymoon.   All that food and I ate so little, I was so proud of myself and the control I have now. So many compliments on how good I looked, I so loved it and just let it soak in! Can't wait to share the photos with all of you in a week or so!   I had one person come up to me and tell me that the band is what his wife is looking into and that seeing me made her mind up. 16 months almost post band and lovin it! I found it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

:smile: I found a dress to wear to my daughters wedding. I went shopping with my daughter today and I just found the most beautiful dress and jacket. It is a beige gown with a flowing a line skirt, JUST the right length, fits so well. My bust are TOO BIG! I had to get a size 14 (I think this came out of the Jr.s dept) and it is a little tight in the boob section, but hey! I guess I had rather have this problem that not have any thing in that dept. to fuss about! LOL   Anyway the bodice is heavily sequined and beaded and the sheer gorgette is light and airy and feels wonderful. So I am HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY again and I can now begin to move on to finishing this wedding planning!   Food is on the agenda, did a little shopping today, I made sure to add some of the foods that work well for me, some nice almonds instead of walnuts or peanuts or pecans for me, they are lower in carbs and I can have more of them, and they have NO Salt! We are having pork and beef k-bobs that are seasoned with cajun and asain sauces. Pure protein and easy to eat on a stick! Side dishes include green beans and fruit salsa, and texas cavier! All high fiber, low carb choices. I will have to steer clear of the Chocolate fountain! UGH and the Punch too, loaded with sugars. Wedding foods are so rich!!! I am taking some diet sunkist for my "Punch"! I may have a glass or two of Champaigne or Wine. The wine made here in our town is soooooooo good! Beach Breeze is my favorite!!!! So maybe a tiny bit of Beach Breeze for a daughters wedding will be just right!   God Bless you all on you efforts and successes this week.:thumbup:

I am going to be a beautiful Mother of the Bride!

:rolleyes2:Yes my youngest daughter is getting married in October! She has always wanted the different things from all the other girls so 10-10-10 is her choice for a wedding date, won't be around for another 1,000 years! Great Choice! It will also be cooler in Florida for a wedding outside! We went shopping for "Styles" in Wedding gowns and Mother of the Bride Gowns Saturday and a Tasting from the Caterer's. The food was delicious and by the time we got through with the Cocktail selections I was full! LOL The tiny crab cakes (4 of them) were the best! And the crostini's were good too (2) Shrimp Cocktail (2) and I was stuffed! I found a beautiful gown, loved the style on me! A size 14 is what I tried on but I "HAVE" to order a size 12!!!!!!How wonderful is that? When I started this LapBand Journey, I weighed almost 270 lbs and wore 22-24-26's depending on how they were made. I Thank God for leading me in the direction of the Band! Hunger increases at the end of one year with the band! Take a Diet Pill?

:closedeyes:Well, I have to tell you that I don't lie about this band journey! I have started being hungrier at the end of the first year, so you newbies, milk it for all you can get while you are NOT hungry at first.   It feels like I am hungrier now, and my tummy growls too, it did not do that at first.   I am debating trying to add a diet pill to help with the last 20-25 lbs of weight I need to get off! I am not in a hurry really, but I get worried when the weight just drags or comes off and then right back on, 2 to 3 lbs rolling over and over again is frustrating too.   I have heard of some taking a diet pill at the end to encourage the band, should I? Should I not? Anyone done this? I heard HCG is good???   I would love to hear what you did, if you would share.   Had a great day with my granddaughter and Mom today! God Bless!

High Protein Diet is WORKING!!! Dropped 3.5 lbs in a week!

I decided to follow the Lindora Lean for Life program. Very High Protein to get you into Ketosis in the first three Days, then introduce some good carbs day four on. It worked! I am only in a Moderate state of Ketosis and I have Lost 3.5 lbs this week or In 5 days actually. I go in for my second fill tomorrow and I have calmed down about it, thanks to all of those who sent a post. I know it will help restrict my intake of foods that I don't need to be eating and stop my cravings more too, also I want to get going with an excercise program. There is a Gym I have checked out that is $35 per month, and a personal trainer to assist you in setting up your Program! Gonna Give it a Whirl!:biggrin::thumbup::biggrin::eek::biggrin::mad::biggrin:Have a Blessed Day All!

Heading North to ALASKA! Cruise Time has arrived!

:cool:I selected the "Cool" Symbol, cause it is NOT going to be in the 80's in ALASKA! My first time cruising there, and I AM SO EXCITED!   I am not so FAT anymore, so I AM White Water Rafting out to the Glaciers!!!! YEAH!   What fun this trip is going to be because of the BAND! Down 82 lbs and looking for the last 18 lbs to go (or more) in the next four months! My first year with the BAND. Sometimes it is difficult and get into that woe is me syndrom, where I am sad that I can't eat something or MORE of something that I really love! But I look back and that is what got me to where I was when I had the BAND procedure! I thank God I am restricted, Behavior Modification takes a lot of time! That is what I have~time, and I WILL change for the better with it and you will tooooo! So HAPPY FOR ALL OF US BANDSTERS! Have a great day all!:smile:
 

Happy Today!

:thumbup: Well I am ready for a fill. Not sure why I just can't get the scales to drop that much anymore. I feel like the restriction is less now on some days and more on others, but it does depend on what I am eating too. One of my best friends is getting ready to have the LapBand, she is going through the hoops that BCBS is making her do. And the Diet Clinics don't really help you, cause they just want you back and your money!!! The latter being the most important thing. I hope she does not get discouraged, she will be so happy she made this choice. I am down 67 lbs give or take a lb or two that fluctuates daily now! Support group meeting tomorrow night and I will be so glad! I NEED it. I want to thank all of you who have helped me these last six months. I know it takes time to go in and comment or send a private message, but it means so much to me. I don't know you all but you know where I am because you are there too, and it so helps to share on here. I am Happy Today to have all of you in my life, you are my Valentines!:biggrin::thumbup::tt1:

Happy Days!

:smile:Good Morning! And it is good. I am staying the same, and that is a GOOD thing.   I look at life this way, at least I am not gaining weight. All my life I gained weight. Now I am able to stay within a lb or so and right back down to the weight I have reached.   I am fairly content with this weight, but sure I would like to get one size smaller! I believe it will come to me one day soon. I am not going to push too hard, to allow my skin to adjust to all the weight loss.   I have two grandchildren arriving in September, new babies. One is a Girl~Ava and the Other a boy~ Wesley, So life is all good.   My youngest daughter is getting married to a wonderful young man she has been seeing for 8 years now on and off. They are the perfect couple. Planning is now in the "Get it done stages, so we are a little stressed, but not much, it is fun!"   So many Happy Days! I have nothing to complain about today! Half Way-Today! Six Months Post op!

Well it is six months today. When I blogged earlier I did not think about it! I guess I should be very happy that I have lost 65 lbs now.   But I keep looking forward, and yesterday is gone, I have today and if God is willing tomorrow. So I will plan on doing better every day from now on, that is really all I can do, cause I can not control the events, happenings of my LIFE, but I Can control how I react to those events and happenings when it comes to food consumption! (Thanks to the LB Surgery)

Had a Case of the Lazies today!

Depressed or what? Don't know but I could not move off the couch today, just did not want to do anything.   I had so much energy the first six months of the journey and now I feel tired, well I did just get back from a 12 day Vacation, (No Rest then) Guess I need a vacation to get over my vacation.   Nothing really on TV either, can't believe that I watched Top Model!!??   I wanted to eat more today too, just sitting around, should have gotten my butt up and gone to the Gym, well there is always tomorrow!   My next appt is Friday and I dread it, because of the cruise, I have not lost any weight this month, and dread the visit! I need my Mojo Back! And the Dr. and Staff always do that for me, cause they are my friends now and really care about me, I know this to be true~sooo I will suck it up and get to the Dr.   I think I get too hung up on Goal Setting and feeling like a failure when I don't meet the goals! Got to get past this! I also have a few friends who are a little upset and maybe even a bit jealous I am getting smaller than them, they can say things that really hurt! I want to take off 30 lbs this next year and I believe I will too, got to work at it and I will.   Thanks for hearing me vent! Later!:smile2:
 

Grilled Peanut Butter(Crunchy) and Jelly Sandwich??

Yes I was smitten at the Ag Expo in Moultrie GA last year by these tasy little sandwiches! Now If you just use one slice of bread, it cuts the carbs way back!   Something about the heat and the butter that I use to toast the bread, what a great supper, my husband is eating vanilla ice cream right now for his dessert, so I get on here to avoid the temptation, and talk about my sweet PB&J Grilled Sandwich. He worked hard today and he has ALWAYS weighed the same since the day we married 32 yrs ago. Sooooo let him eat Ice Cream.   Trying something different and Out of the Box helps us to avoid the boredom that will come with a diet. HAVING to do something just sets me up for failure, I WANT to do this so I am succeeding!   I will get my beautiful Granddaughter Bayleigh for two days tomorrow and we are going to have a tea party (with Crystal Light Tea) and PB&J sandwiches! Then we are going to don our swimsuits and go to the BEACH. I have not been to the beach in several years, actually can not remember the last time??? That is sad considering I live only 30 min. from them. I may have some flab, but I am 91 lbs lighter than the last time I went. So here I go!   Hope all of you are having a wonderful night! Great Chicken Recipe!!!!

This is delicious!   Low Carb, High Protein!   Chicken Fritters!   In a large bowl, mix one can of White Meat Chicken, chopped finely! (Reduce the size of the chunks to minced) Add Two Green onions minced fine. Salt and Pepper to taste.   Add 1 1/2 cups of Ricotta Cheese Add 1 Cup of Low Fat Sour Cream Add 1/4 cup Flour (to hold the mixture togeter) White or Whole Wheat Add two eggs, beaten.   Mix entire mixture together in bowl.   Spray cast iron pan with cooking spray, low-cal type. Drop mixture into pan, in 4 oz sizes, keep flipping until brown on both sides, about 4 min. till done. Serve with a side salad and low cal dressing!   Absolutely Delicious and Satisfying!
 

Going ALL PROTEIN for Three to Four Days! Shakin it up!

Got to Shake it Up Baby~Twist and Shout!!!! Going ALL PROTEIN FOR THREE OR FOUR DAYS TO GET THIS OLE BODY BACK INTO KETOSIS! I WANT A LEAN MEAN FAT BURNING MACHINE! With a new lapband fill and it is tight now, it is helping me a lot, but without being in Ketosis, (fat burning mode) I am craving sweets and salty foods, so it is back to the basics for me (again)! 1,000 calories per day and all protein too! That will do it! When I get into Ketosis, I will gradually add carbs to the (meager 20 grams ~ususally the milk w/my Whey Protein Shakes) diet up to 50 per day and stay there. I need a 20 lbs loss of weight over the next three months and I am going to get there! Exercising too at least three times per week! Got to get Persistant and Consistant! That is the plan, here I go! Oh and I have my handy measuring tools for portion size right where I can reach them! Beach weather is here and it is beautiful in the Panhandle of Florida! Got to wait till May to Swim though because the Jellyfish are everywhere! Ewwwwe!:tongue_smilie:

:confused:Just have to log on before bed each night and one time in the morning, to check out this website! I must say I am addicted to it!   I just love you all and am so encouraged to hear from you, get those little words of encouragement, that make me feel on top of the world!!! THANKS!   I have a friend who did not have the LAP-BAND® AP, she has lost the same amount of lbs as I have and has also joined the Gym, she had three children, I had four. I (as a Real Estate Broker) sold her the house she lives in, yet she is younger than me and does not have the skin issues I have to deal with, I am so proud for her, but my problem was not hers.   I could always follow a diet, and keep the weight I would lose off for a good while, and then here it came creeping back on again! So~~~I got the band, and well I do not regret it, never will. When I commit to something, I am right there in support of the cause 100%   Everyone is different~isn't that nice? That diversity is what makes this world and this site so interesting to me. This site and this Band has brought every culture, race and gender together as one in the cause to beat obesity for good! Getting Excited about The Wedding Dress!

:smile:My dress will be here today or tomorrow hopefully!!!   I can't wait to try it on, it is beautiful! I hope that now with the weight loss it will be a wedding I will feel good about how I look! When my son got married I was in too few photos, and that is sad. But I dodged the camera, needless to say that was not fair to my son for his memories later on when I am no longer around. (which will be a long time!!!)   If it fits, I will take photos and post! Hope you all have a blessed day!:thumbup:

Food and Memorial Day Blahs?

:frown:Just thinking I wish I could eat a Hot Dog! Blah, Blah is my body adjusting faster than My Brain? I use to think that my brain moved faster than I could talk, and that I could think of things and ways to amuse my mind to keep the hands away from food.   Is it Just Memorial Day Blahs? I use to love to fix a big potato salad and ribs and hot dogs and hamburgers, I just kinda feel like I am missing out and just feeling a little low and left out right about now.   Not with the way I look and how I like getting into clothes sizes I could not wear for the past 10 or so years, I just sit around (when I am not working and think too much, it is hard to stop thinking about foods that I want to eat and can't) and want to eat, so I have to modify this behavior I KNOW! Anyway I think it has to do with lots of depressing things going on in my life right now, recent deaths, financial concerns, etc. I will get over it, and I will move on, and life will get better I KNOW: just needed to vent to those of you who KNOW where I am at at this stage, rolling 4 or 5 lbs around is so depressing, up and then down and then back up again, very challenging for the last 20 lbs on any diet program and even with the band too.:sad:
 

First Cruise since the Band~~~~Got to get ready! Mentally!

Heading on a cruise to Mexico, Cozumel to be exact, going with 7 other couples for a Thanksgiving Cruise. I am very excited about the cruise, but very nervous too as I know I will be put to the test with ALL that food on the ship. I have determined to eat only lean, high protein and good carbs. If I do slip, I'll hit the Gym and the exercise class! Anyone else have this happen? I am only 15 weeks post band, down 51 lbs so far and want to hit Onderland by Christmas. So I really have to prepare to say NO to MYSELF!:cool2:

Finding Happy Trails!

Everyone persues happiness, but FEW can define it!   Is happiness the bright red apple dangling from the highest branch of the tree or the immense treasure buried somewhere underground? Is happiness the perfect person with whom to spend your life with?   Many times you lose hope of finding happiness simply because you may be looking for it in the wrong places.   True happiness has less to do with outward circumstances that with inward, and more to do with the inward harmony than with outward. True happiness is being anchored to your Creator, who knows you better that you know yourself. True happiness isn't dependant on another person. It isn't dangling out of your reach or hiding deep underground. True happiness can be found in the ordinary activities of your life. You need only look inward and upward.   Happy are those who respect the Lord and obey him. You will enjoy what you work for, and you will be blessed with good things. Facing the Fiddler

:scared2:Today is the day I see the Dr. for a Fill OR NOT! I dread this day, cause I have not been eating right, cause stuff will not go down, so I need a slight unfill so I don't eat sliders to feel full. (Sliders=Stuff I should not have full of calories, that slide through easy)   So Here I go to face the fiddler and to help myself to eat fish, chicken and salads again!   I will not be as depressed either!   On a good note:smile:My oldest grandson will graduate from Kindergarten this morning and I feel so blessed for having this year almost behind me! Life gets better every year.   This year two more grandchildren will be added to our family and my daughter gets married in October! So we will be growing our little family! God is a Good God!:smile2:
 

Exercising The all Important Factor in weight loss and Life!!!

:ohmy:EXERCISE!   OH HOW I HATED TO EXERCISE, AND EVEN NOW I HAVE TO PUSH MYSELF BEYOND MY COMFORT ZONES!   BUT~~~~~EXERCISE IS THE ALL IMPORTANT FACTOR IN TAKING OFF THE ADDED WEIGHT OF THE YEARS!   FOR WOMEN, HAVING BABIES PUTS ON WEIGHT FOR SOME AND THEY NEVER CAN PUSH ENOUGH TO GET IT OFF(FOR ME~AND FOR SOME THEY ARE A SIZE 2 RIGHT AFTER) YOU ARE BUSY WITH THE BABY AND JUST ABOUT FORGET YOURSELF.   FOR OLDER WOMEN, THE AGE AND SLOWING DOWN DUE TO AGING HAPPENS, AND IT DOES NOT SEEM WORTH THE EFFORT JUST TO LOOK GOOD!   :tongue_smilie:BUT IT IS NOT JUST ABOUT LOOKING GOOD! IT IS ABOUT FEELING GOOD. AND LIVING LONGER HEALTHIER LIVES.   :w00t:TWO MONTHS AFTER BEING BANDED, I JOINED A GYM, WENT OUT ON A LIMB AND PAID FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR(GOT A NICE DISCOUNT TOO) I KNEW I WOULD GO IF I PAID AND NOT LOSE THE MONEY!!LOL   :w00t:I WAS SO UNSURE OF MYSELF, DID NOT KNOW A THING ABOUT ANY OF THE MACHINES EXCEPT THE TREADMILL AND THE BICYCLES! BUT THE GYM OWNER WAS A PERSONAL TRAINER AND HE SET ME UP WITH A CARD AND A ROUTINE! SO FEELING LIKE AN IDIOT, I GOT INTO SOME GYM SWEATS AND GOT STARTED. THAT WAS 4 1/2 MOS AGO.   :wub:TODAY I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER! I DO NOT BREAK OUT IN A SWEAT EACH TIME I GO TO THE GYM, I DO ABOUT 45 MIN TOTAL TIME ABOUT THREE TIMES A WEEK. I GET IN 10 OR 15 MIN ON THE TREADMILL TO WARM UP AND THEN HIT THE WEIGHT RESISTANCE MACHINES. I AM WORKING HARD ON THE ABDOMEN RIGHT NOW, THE UPPER ARMS(SO THEY WON'T BE TOO FLABBY FROM THE WEIGHT LOSS, AND THE INNER AND OUTER THIGHS TOO) I STARTED WITH 15 LBS OF WEIGHTS AND I AM UP TO 60 & 75 LBS ON MOST ALL THE MACHINES NOW. BUILDING MUSCLE, IT DOES WEIGH MORE THAN FAT AND LAST MONTH I GAINED INCHES FROM THE ADDED MUSCLE BUT LOST A FEW LBS TOO. THIS MONTH I AM DOING THE SAME THING. SO I AM NOT DROPPING THE WEIGHT AS FAST AS I DID TO START WITH! SO WHAT, THE INCHES I HAVE LOST ALREADY AND THE LBS ARE SUFFICIENT FOR NOW, AND AS I BUILD MUSCLE, IT WILL IN TURN SPEED UP MY METABOLISM TO HELP MY BODY ATTACK AND BURN FAT!   :smile2:MAY I JUST SAY "I LOVE MY GYM" THE FOLKS THERE ARE SO HELPFUL, YET THEY LEAVE YOU ALONE TO YOUR WORK. I MET AN OLD HIGH SCHOOL FRIEND WHO HELPS ME NOW, HE WAS IN "MR. WORLD" CHAMPIONSHIPS AND PLAYED FOOTBALL IN SCHOOL, STILL LOOKS GREAT AT 57, STILL IN SHAPE AND STILL LIFTING WEIGHTS. AGING IS SLOWED DOWN BY THOSE WHO EXERCISE ON A REGULAR BASIS~IT IS PROVEN IT HELPS ARTHRITIS, ETC. GOOD AND HEART HEALTHY, START SOME TODAY.   EVEN IF YOU CAN'T OR WON'T BE JOINING A GYM, START WALKING THREE TIMES A WEEK FOR 30 TO 45 MIN.
